Sydney Swans, biggest club in Australia

This is real dumb.

Who would have thought that people from the most populist city, when asked who they follow, would name the local team?

No need for any other metric that might indicate size of a club or a fan base, like membership, attendance, club revenue derived from supporters, or even social media followings because everyone knows that ticking a box on a survey is a sign of being a fan.

The Hawks almost lost 1/3 of all their supporters this year according to Mr Roy.

The poll numbers change so much from year to year = that clearly means the poll methodology is flawed (or it means people swap their teams every year).

Collingwood and Richmond have been debating endlessly over which of their clubs is the biggest.

Reality is neither of them are the biggest and both pale in comparison to the biggest club in the land - Sydney Swans.

Such a strong supporter base means that they should no longer require additional support such as the Academy.....

We as in the game need the Swans Academy to produce more AFL standard players for the pool - how mant duds have you got on your list, we've all got them.

Man up, the traditional States are on easy street compared to the developing States, where we dont need a leg up in drafting.
Wait for a day soon when my mob or Freo make a mockery of the Academy system/draft with a golden haul of talent from the indigenous kids over there, it will happen, it shouldnt be allowed IMHO.
Academys for the developing States only & if you reckon thats unfair think of the GF at the G.

Yeah well, we don't like to make a big thing of it.
We might be the biggest button on the AFL's cash register, but that by no means says we are a "big club". We'd prefer to stay out of that sort of "my dick is bigger than yours" stupidity.

For a foundation club that was unceremoniously dumped in another city without so much as a change room, Sth Melb have been a powerhouse of good for the game. It shouldn't bother you to simply acknowledge it. Not necessary though.

How can you judge the crowd when you're always loitering in the loo?????

Sadly my contact is... uh

I have to use a colostomy bag these days.

Do these really hold that much weight? I find it hard to believe that there was a 27% and 20% drop in Hawthorn and Bulldogs supporter numbers.
