unfortunately don't be surprised if B2 doesn't play before the finals
What's going on? More setbacks on the Achilles or another injury? If he doesn't make it back before the finals, I'd really question the value of putting him in.

This.

If he can't play at least 2 games before finals it is not worth the risk IMO. Let him have the rest of the season off and get him right for next season. Our defence has been performing exceptionally well without Craig, the wonderful defender that he is, so yeh I'd put him on ice for the rest of the year, if this is indeed the case.

Same one, just lingered, as he says he has been blessed in the past. I tend to agree with you. Lets get him right for next year, I question other posters saying the defence has been exceptional but then again I am a pies supporter

We're 5th in overall points allowed which is a pretty solid effort. There are obviously other stats that could determine how effective our defence is but i don't know where to find them. And this is while we are playing a more open style of footy this year.

Perhaps exceptionally well was a bit much, but considering we lost our best defender and one of our leaders so early i am very happy with how our defence has played. They have given up big scores against the top teams but an argument can be made for our midfield helping to hang the defenders in those games, so poorly did they play.

well said will update when I can

Cheers, please do.

It's great to actually have someone with knowledge of one of our injuries. The club website's injury list seems to be very unreliable.

Oh FFS. Just write Bradshaw off for the year. This is getting ridiculous.

I think we can forget about Bradshaw, Bolton & Seaby playing again this year. Even if Bolton and Seaby get back they're not going to have any sort of impact because of the nature of their injuries. Bradshaw may be a different story but I doubt we'll see him again this year.

See this is when I start to think, 'Surely they had an inkling Braddy might be out for awhile. So play a LJ or a TDL and leave them in the team. Stop chopping and changing etc etc. Put one of our future kids in their and let them have a decent crack'. We've just been patching our forward line up each week. Just pick Jesse and LJ/TDL/Rohan (has been injured) and leave them in there.

I agree with that thinking, Nich, but Roosy and co. are set in their ways (which have been successful for most of their time at the club, so that is rightful in a sense). He is fiercely loyal to those who fit the way he wants to play and those who have succeeded in his game plan in the past.

And we are still right in contention for the finals, so i believe Roosy believes there is no point in throwing a bunch of kids (even more than we have right now, which is a lot for a recent Swans team) to see how they go. If we were out of the running for a top 8 spot, i think that attitude would be adopted by Roosy.

The thing that worries me is that even if we weren't in contention I still think he wouldn't! : )

I dunno, last year when we were almost certainly not in contention for a finals spot (we were mathematically possible pretty much right to the end but we weren't legitimately in contention) he seemed to make a more concerted effort to allow younger players to play more consistently in the senior side. Hannebery, White, Smith, Jack, Bird leap to mind (though his hand was somewhat dealt due to heaps of injury).

Can only assume he would do something similar this year if it happened again and he would give LJ, TDL, Jetta, Rohan, Vez (wait maybe not Vez, i hear he killed Roosy's mum or something) a more consistent go.

yeah, i think roos really should've started playing younger forward options, especially with bradshaw being a week to week proposition...that's one section where we're really lacking... my first choice all year has been playing vez up there...i'm really dissappointed that we haven't seen him in the team regularly...obviously there's something going on behind the scenes...but i can't help think that he would've been the perfect inclusion many times this year...

i would've thought that LJ would've gotten a game somewhere along the lines...

and rohan...i would've had him in the team every week barring injury/fatigue...he's been great all year
