Oh Man, now I gotta go a delete a whole bunch of posts from his North days.

Make sure you save them to your clipboard, you'll be using them by about round 6.

So when can we expect the announcement that Jimmeh is being appointed as Bard's backstabber in chief senior assistant?

Not a definitive list as this stuff is actually quite tricky to find out but...

Examples in the last 50 years of a coach playing in a finals win more recently than the club he's coaching (excluding the first 10 years of expansion clubs)

John Northey (Rich v Carl 1969) at Melbourne (v Coll 1964) started in 1987
Matthew Egan (Geel v Melb 2005) at Essendon (v Melb 2004) started in 2015 *

Leigh Matthews (Haw v Foot 1985) at Collingwood (v Carl 1984) started in 1986

The list is order in the time period between the coach's last win as a player, and his commencement at the new club. An asterisk mean he was only an interim.

Please add any more examples you can think of.

Great Scott: Dons poach AFL's footy GM as new coach - Great Scott: Dons poach AFL's footy GM as new coach

Scott officially entered the Bombers' coaching process on Thursday, with the club's board ratifying the decision to make him their replacement for Ben Rutten on Thursday evening.

A robust and exhaustive process if I've ever seen one. I'm sure they left no stone unturned when doing their due diligence between 10am and 5pm today.

My favourite part of the article is definitely the accompanying photo:

Unfortunately, they got the caption wrong. It should have read "Brad Scott reacts to being asked whether he'll be backing up his assurances to 'do the right thing by North' by foregoing his final year's salary".
