Two of the worst versions of the Canadian and Irish anthems I've heard but hopefully the pitch is better than the last two games.
This is the replacement pitch right? Had the ICC stream muted until the first ball.

This outfield is wild. But what the hell were they supposed to do - it's a literal park, the drainage is gonna be cooked wherever the tarps aren't placed.

Ireland Vs USA should be interesting - Ireland are putting them away pretty hard here, but USA are riding the wave that can help you beat a team like Ireland (or Pakistan lol)

Funny watching the batsmen hit a good shot thinking it will go for four and then realising they have to try and run a 3 instead.

The slow outfield is like having an extra fielder, it can turn fours into threes, threes into twos and twos into singles.
Sixes into fives!

Canada looking to push with 5 left? They've looked behind for a long time but if they can swing here?

Good knock from Kirton, unfortunately fell just one short from his fifty which probably would have been the first fifty at this ground
Solid knock and a real recovery from a 1 sided affair to something that should be somewhat competitive.

But can you imagine if a major team gave that greasy to a fellow player? Rag Sports Media would have a week of content off it alone.

A decent total of 137 from Canada which should be competitive, Ireland would fancy their chances of chasing that down though.

This pitch looks to be easier to bat on than the pitch in the previous two games at this ground but it isn't a flat road by any means
It looks like it has eased up as the day has moved on. I think Ireland win this regardless of pitch conditions but I expect a strogn finish.

Yeah it definitely looks like a bowl first pitch if you win the toss as it seems to do more earlier on and then gets easier later on.

The teams that have batted second at this ground have won, South Africa and India probably would have won regardless though.
Yeah, very hard to tell when all 3 of the matches so far have had the far better (on paper) team batting second

Getting excited with Canada right now but it still feels like you just need 5 solid overs from Ireland to secure this.

Canada have had this sort of game in them. They're undefeated in World League 2 (in 50 overs cricket) this cycle. And even though they were swept by USA earlier this year all the games were close, and as we know now USA are quite good.

Another wicket for Canada, Ireland in all sorts at 59/6 with 11 runs per over needed.

I'm calling it now, it will be a USA v Canada final, they look like the teams to beat so far.
Well they did play in the only game where both teams played at or near their best.

Maybe Namibia vs Scotland

With Ireland losing this game, the USA will go into their game against Ireland with a lot of confidence and knowing that if they beat them, they will go into the Super 8s
if there's a tie on points, does it come down to head to head; and 3 way tie comes down to NRR?

Having defeated Canada, Pakistan, and possibly Ireland, will put the USA on 6 points, and a clear second behind India. If USA lose to Ireland, it will fall to NRR

Ireland have been pretty poor in white ball cricket tournaments in the past few years.
They haven’t been given the same opportunities and level of opposition as Afghanistan. The Asian Cricket Council continue to run the Asia Cup with games against India and Pakistan. Whilst there’s no equivalent to that in European; even if they were to, it would be the England Lions playing to make sure that Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands have level competition.
Ireland haven’t run their First Class competition since the start of Covid, and their 50 over and T20 leagues are scattered throughout the year.
The majority of the Afghan side play in T20 leagues around the world, whilst it’s only Josh Little getting a few games here and there from the Irish side
This would all translate to international level
