Australia will be in the same group as India at the Super 8 stage if both teams qualify regardless of whether they finish 1st or 2nd in their group. The Super 8s stage is pre-seeded and Australia are B2.

If the same teams qualified as in your scenario Australia's group would be India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh.
