Jilian Day looked good as did bickies arnott and cookie did a full session in the pool which is surprising after hearing what a lazy fella he can be and yes of course camo would be a huge loss he is being touted as the next coach of the club. Everyone out there has been really impressed by his knowledge of the game and his willingness to help out the young kids. Sounds to me like your mum might be his favourite:D

luckily for Kiewa Day didnt go there with the same wraps he got in cricket.
If he displays the same form early on at footy that he did at cricket might well find himself kickin the dew of the grass.
Just hope if he is my mums favorite hes leavin the money on the fridge like everyone else that rocks around.

They didnt look to bad at all with a few of the new recruits leading the way but there was a few noteable exceptions with cameron and rhodes missing with a strong whisper in the club that Bobby Craig has lured em both back to wodonga...i would reckon the heirachy out there is praying it aint true
After watching last years grand final i hope Wodonga provide Cammo with a dietitian:D:D:D

He definetley playing at kiewa as is rhodes. How are recruits shaping up for other clubs? Who is starring on the track? And has anyone got any practice matches penned in yet? Come on blokes stop being so tight lipped bout recruits

It is looking like this thread needs a bit of input. So here goes.
Saints had another decent turn out at training on Monday night with about 30+ seniors and 10+ thirds. It definantly seems as though we will field a 3rds team which will be a great stepping stone for our club to move forward. The new guys that we have picked up, that are training, are not going to be league B&F's but will make us more competitive. Again were not going to be world beaters but if we can win a few more games than last year, be competitve in the rest of the games and keep improving who knows what could happen.

How are the other clubs going with training? How are the new recruits training?

Thats good news about the saints obviously buttsey has you blokes on the right track. My thoughts on this year is that i don't thinlk it'll be the two horse race everyone is predicting anyone of 8 or 9 clubs are a genuine chance of making the 5 and once they are there anything can happen. Great to see clubs like saints, tallangatta, yack, dmb, beechworth improve enough to blow the comp wide open. No surprises on the transfer lists just yet.

Pretty sure they are, Manny confirmed it with Rutherglen coach this week so unless something has changed recently they would be having a hit out at Rutherglen, not sure of date though, think weekend after easter??? Know Brookers play Kiewa on Friday night 14th March, day before Holbrook Races.

How are the Tiges shaping up for 08. Looks like they have snared some of their local juniors back which would be good for the town. Keeping the Roche boys, Loof Withers and Bradshaw will help and injecting some youth into the lineup will be good. Do they have side to make it to Prelim like last year or is it a matter of maybe taking a step back to rebuild a bit. In and Under any mail?

And maybe you are too! I don`t think the cats are going are going to have the great year you anticipate. Talking to a Rutherglen bloke today and he believes they will struggle to win more than 3 games.

Seems to be alot of anonymous Rutherglen people writing this season off before it has begun, also Richo am wondering which big bloke from Albury who played acouple of years ago you are talking about????? Not anyone i can think of that fits that bill, Maybe Timmy Kennedy, who trained has trained once but would hardly be classified as a big

TK will play twos at wodonga this year, said he doesn't want to get smashed every week, they're his words not mine.

I may have got my wires crossed. Maybe the big bloke is from Melbourne, looking to relocate to this area.(Employment needed).

Don't know about anonymous Rutherglen people CS, but this is directly from Rutherglen Cat's website under committee minutes of 4/2/08.

"Mark Sarau update Numbers poor for senior training lately. Mark and Darren ringing around chasing players. Need to sign up or a commitment from players in limbo."

Some things are better left out of the minutes if they're gonna be posted for all the world to see I would reckon.

I hear the Tigers have been training since Nov 07 with a two week break over XMas. Have lost some quality but are very impressed with the youth that will be injected into the club. Apparently had 35 blokes at training Wed night, and have more committed for this season.
One thing that everyone will enjoy is they have apparently given the visitors rooms a clean up :thumbsu: thus confirming Sandy Creek, Thurgoona & Kiewa now should slug it out for bragging rights on the worst change rooms in the TDFL :D.

News from out Tallangatta way is that Brad Maguire is shaping up well. Apparently Gooey is completing a full pre season for the first time in over a decade.

There is nothing (barring demolition) that you could do to that sh*thole to make anywhere near the standard of Thurgoona's brick changerooms with unlimited instant hot water. Title is still yours.
