I think there's merit in us trying to get #11 to improve our draft position if we're already doing a deal on Shaw and Adams. Not necessarily sending what is now pick #21 for #11, but finding something that interests Collingwood to get it done (don't know what, but I'd hazard a guess that might be what's being worked on)

GWS getting pick 2 and Collingwood getting pick 6 changes the trading landscape a bit for each club too. Before yesterday I would've said we'd take 3-4 picks but now it's definitely looking like 4, so that affects whatever we're trying to give and get out of the back end of this deal.

The Mumford trade looked simple enough (3rd rounder straight up) yet that didn't go through until yesterday, after the pick 2 deal. Both teams are working towards a trading endgame and it doesn't seem like there's urgency on either side on this specific deal.

You're right that there's a middle ground and they're splitting hairs, but list managers must loves each other's company if there's a 3 week trade period and they insist on having face-to-face meetings. For all we know they're smashing the company credit cards at some Melbourne establishments haha

You Got Pick 1 and 2. Can't why you want an Imporvment

We should just keep him, tell him its VFL for the season if he stuffs up. Plain and simple. If GWS want Shaw and our 1st or 2nd then forget about it, straight swap, nothing to see here move on. Shaw still has 3-4 good years, load up on Adams in the PSD we have a ton of cap space, roll the dice.

Could end up keeping Heater with 6,10 Adams and White.. would be a massive win for the club, in the psd not many clubs would want a kid who is being offered massive overs if he doesnt want to play for them. Could set us up for a tilt 2015.. Would be bold but sends a clear message to other clubs that we wont be bullied into trades, will also hurt GWS in terms of attracting elite players, will also scare them to bits in terms of losing quality through the PSD if they act like fckwhits.

I really do hope the upgrade deal for pick 6 and White (3 way deal) goes through ASAP because then it will put the pressure back on GWS.

We won't have pick 11 or our second round pick for them to even consider, and there's no way in hell they are getting pick 10, Hine has made that clear from the starts.

Do the deal with the Eagles and Swans, get White to the club and ignore GWS for a few days, let them stew then talk to them again and maybe they will have come to their senses.

Can someone explain why WCE would do that deal? As reported they will be going down the order in the 1st (6 to 10/11) & 3rd (44 to 49) rounds just to get your 2nd round (# 31) to use on Yeo.

The speculation is that whoever West Coast was going to use 6 on, they'd expect them to still be there at 10/11.

Apparently they see no difference in 6 or 11. Hine obviously does. And they are very keen on Yeo.

They probably don't care about 44 to 49 as they may not use it anyway. 6 to 10 is a drop, but they may not see any real difference between the quality of player that they will get at 6 versus 10, they may even be confident that they will get the same player, so this trade could result in them effectively getting Yeo for nothing.

Supposedly they don't see any difference between 6 & 10/11.

Dear Leon Cameron can you please stop hiding behind sos, sheedy itching there b-lls and grow a set to take charge of your club to get deals done as your looking like a fool and could be the next Mark Neeld ;-). You have Cameron, Patton and soon Boyd, most clubs only have one ok big fwd on the list.

Great. I mean, I am keen to find out what he (Lucas) says but I'd be willing to bet it's more of the same 'manager speak' - Taylor is open to deals being done at both clubs, this thing is far from over the line, Collingwood might need to look at improving their offer, GWS need to be satisfied etc etc.'

I reckon that the Pies have whacked a big fat wedge in the Yeo trade, stating to Brisbane they will try and get them our pick 31 to WC for Yeo so hold tight. Makes WC more amenable to the 10 and 31 for 6 and 44 trade.

They came to us.

They effectively net Yeo for our 2nd round pick and only drop 4-5 spots they think the player they want will still be there at that pick anyway.
