I do feel for Tay a bit. You never know though Longmire could well surprise and select him for the Granny. Both Brisbane and Geelong will bring way more heat than Port could muster tonight which would suit Tay’s game.

If given a chance Tay would probably do it again , mainly due to the contractual security that Sydney provided .
That's the point innit. Fly is on record saying he personally was on yearly minimum wage contracts when Brisbane three peated. He continued to grind away and find a way to stay in the side on the last Saturday of September.

That's the best part about him. His own story is one of a hard role (small fwd) packed with as much resilience as the game will see.

Well unless a midfielder (or 2) does a hammy at training this week, he knows he's not replacing anyone from that side tonight.
The fact that he wasn't even an emergency tonight suggests that there may be something going on between Adams and horse. It may not be a major thing but certainly big enough to keep him off the list of players given first consideration to come into the side.

Agreed.
Campbell didn't get a lot of it, but would be hard to displace a team that just won a prelim. For someone that hasn't played a game in a month.

Was it his last game where he was subbed off too? Played really poorly that match iirc. Looked like he knew that he'd served his purpose for the Swans for the year.

Was always going to struggle to stay in when Parker & Mills came back. And now he can't get back in even when Mills is injured again.

I heard them ask Leon Cameron about that before the game..he said the logic was to select players as emergencies for specific roles like ruck, forward in case of a late out .. whereas another midfielder was not necessarily a need. I guess that makes sense.

Agree.
Was probably just viewed as insurance given they had players that were gonna miss some time this year, and he has helped them through that period.

Mills is a defender so they would have to move peices around if they were gonna be adams in. But they chose fox, well.. they chose fox as sub and the sub from the first game into the 22.
The fact he wasn't even emg, they view Cleary ahead of him probably is concerning. He's probably a long way back.
When you have their talent, sometimes as an older player you have to accept something like this will happen. As much as it sucks for him.

If Mills is a defender I'm a ballerina.

How's your moves?

They also said thats why they chose Fox to play, basically a like for like (even though he was sub in the end)

You actually did well to find some outdated solitary link when all the others confirm, not like it needed to be, he is a mid :tearsofjoy:

Mills would have played over half his AFL career in defence - and coming off an interrupted year with their midfield flying wihtout him, if he plays, it will probably be in defence.

Except he’s actually played in defence for most of this year, including the last game he played

He was Daicos/ Sheezel/ Zorko before that role existed. It’s all well and good to play in defence, but that doesn’t make you a defender. At least that’s the distinction I assume is being made here otherwise PB would look rather silly.
