Did any of you guys have dramas watching the concert film?

Me and my girlfriend struggled to get it to work. We struggled getting any Apple Music videos to actually play, even on a heap of different devices.

I've seen about half of it through some loooooooonnnnnggggg and laggy loading times, but jesus, great so far. I hated them overlaying the actual backscreen animations over the footage of her, but the rest was good. Looking forward to seeing the rest. Oh – and how's her sass?!
Yeah reading the net it seems Apple Music was struggling everywhere. My kingdom for a simple bluray.

All these people praising Taylor. Yes she has great catchy pop songs but she still has a long way to go to catch up to probably the greatest female entertainer which is Madonna.

Question is will Taylor still be around having hit singles in her mid 30's?

Madonna was having hits singles when she was 50 and has the two most successful world tours by a solo artist into her 50's!

Taylor has a long way way way to go
Madge has got a long way to go to catch up to Dolly Parton...

Taylor is great, even if she's a pretty average person.

People like Ed Sherrin meanwhile are the ones we should hate – average people peddling bland, banal songs that could be sung by a dozen other artists. He offers no soul or personality. He sucks rocks.

Taylor Swift also played one of the best shows I will ever see.

Literally described 90% of the music you post on here :D

Watching the film I actually heard/listened to 'Clean' properly for the first time. The song is staggeringly good. How is there an album cut that's so good and so well written? It's ridiculous.

Well yes, obviously Taylor has a long way to go before she catches up to Madonna. She wasn't even born when Madonna started making music, so it's kind of a difficult comparison. It's a great achievement that Madonna is still having hits and tours well into her 50s, but I don't think you can use that to take anything away from Taylor's achievements thus far.

What I would be more interested in is comparing Madonna's career and achievements when she was 26 to Taylor's career at 26, the age she is now. I'm not completely familiar Madonna's career trajectory, but a quick glance at Wikipedia tells me that Taylor has achieved more at 26 than Madonna had. Also, interestingly enough, to date Madonna and Taylor have both won the same amount of Grammys, with 7 each. Madonna's coming from 28 nominations, Swift's from 29 (with 7 pending for next year). Another thing, Madonna has received those nominations over a period of 30 years, compared to less than 10 years for Taylor.

Will Taylor still be around having hit singles in her mid 30's? Honestly, I think yes. Taylor has a crazy innate ability to write songs with a catchy hook, and that alone will keep her in the charts for a very long time.

Also as for those having troubles with accessing the concert movie on Apple Music, I actually had no troubles myself surprisingly. It took a little while to load initially, but after that it worked perfectly.

Madonna was only 1 year into her music career at 26! Only way you can compare the two was with years in music industry.

Taylor swift has been 10 years in the music industry from 2006 to 2005 she has had 5 no.1 singles in the USA and 19 top 10 hits. She has sold 40 million albums.

Madonna for her first 10 years in the music industry from 1983 to 1992 had 10 no.1 hits in the states, 25 top 10 hits and 80 million albums sold.

Madonna at her peak is bigger the Taylor. The only one who could match Madonna during her 80's peak would be Adele.

In comparisons of talent Taylor would be better vocally, Madonna is a much better dancer. In terms of entertainment value madonna's shows are more spectacular. Both write very catchy pop songs but in terms of pushing the envelope and taking risks Madonna shits all of Taylor. Taylor sticks to the same formular while Madonna is not afraid to reinvent her Image and music.

Both very talented artist and at the end of the day you cannot compare the two cos Madonna is 31 years older then Taylor plus Madonna is a icon legend while taylor is still current. But in terms of longevity I cannot see any singer having no.1 singles like Madonna has done in her 40's and even when she was 50 with 4 minutes.

a) Nobody was comparing them so this entire conversation is pointless
b) When did you see Taylor Swift live?
c) "Taylor sticks to the same formula while Madonna is not afraid to reinvent her image and music" It's at this point your trolling became obvious

Out of the Woods is being released as a single. Video debuts NYE (so Jan 1 here). Surprising she's releasing a 6th single, especially after the tour's already finished, but it is maybe my favourite* song off the album so no complaints here.

*I really like Clean. And New Romantics. And Wildest Dreams.

Ok, fair enough, Madonna sold more records than Taylor in the first ten years of her career. Yet from 10 years in the industry 2006 - 2015 Taylor has won 7 Grammys from 29 nominations, compared to Madonna in ten years 1983 - 1992 with 1 Grammy win from 5 nominations.

From 2006 - 2015, Taylor had 3 albums debut at no.1 in the US with over 1,000,000 copies sold in the first week. From 1983 - 1992, Madonna had zero albums achieve that feat. In fact, none of Madonna's albums have ever sold over 1,000,000 copies in the first week. When you compare the record industry in the 80s to the record industry of today, that's a huge achievement for Taylor, and quite surprising that Madonna's albums never did that.

Basically you can pull out any statistics you want to make one look more successful than the other, but I don't quite think that's the entire point. If we are talking about longevity, what will keep Taylor in the game for a long time is her songwriting ability, which I'd argue is better than Madonna's. Madonna doesn't even have a co-writing credit on two of her biggest hits in Like a Virgin and Material Girl. She hasn't even had a solo songwriting credit since her debut album. In comparison, Taylor single-handedly wrote all of her Speak Now album, and has a writing or co-writing credit on all of her songs. One of her co-writers has said in interviews that she basically just worked as Taylor's editor, and Taylor was the driving force behind all of the songs.

Also, you speak as though Taylor is at her peak already. I actually don't think she has peaked yet, and she could still very well go to another level.

Anyway, I'm not trying to argue that Taylor is better than Madonna. That would be ridiculous. Pretty much the point I am trying to make is that Taylor has the potential to have the longevity of Madonna. Taylor is not only just having crazy success in the charts, she's also receiving some pretty great accolades from critics in the music industry. The fact that legends of the industry, such as Mick Jagger and Madonna herself, are actually willing to perform with Taylor bodes pretty well for her career in the future.

Actually Madonna's 2 biggest hits world wide were actually like a prayer and vogue. Material girl actually did not go to no.1 on the charts.

The music industry is very very fickle. Their is no guareentees that Taylor will stil be around in 5 years even tho she is very Talanted.

When Madonna burst onto the scene in 1983 with holiday majority of journos were saying she is a one hit wonder, talentless but she outlasted every major act in the 80's and 90's. From 1983 to 2008 Madonna regularly had Atleast 1 top 10 hit each year in Australia and world wide for that matter. A feat where I don't think any artist may not be able to match. Also Madonna is also the highest selling female artist of all time with 300 million records sold. A feat that will never be broken for the fact is that the music industry is dying except for Adele who pretty much defies the odds. It is very rare for radio stations now days to play a Singer over 30! We live in a very ageist society and is does not matter how good a song and album Madonna, Elton, Mariah, Celine, Janet ect release radio stations refuse to play their must because they are all well into their 40's and 50's. Let's see if it happens too Taylor and Adele in 5 years time.

After being diagnosed with Neuroblastoma in 2010, next to maintaining her health, Delaney had one priority and one priority only: to meet Taylor before the end of her life. After her mom, Wendy Campbell, delivered the somber news that she was on hospice care earlier this month, followers really started pushing for Taylor to notice. Luckily, it seems she did.

Yeah, she has released plenty of singles this album but it is probably a good way to end the year with a (bigger) bang. I must say I really enjoy welcome to New York, would rather that be a music video than say Out of the Woods personally ;).

Still loving the music video of Wildest Dreams, I thought it was bloody brilliant.

The video's not great. Just seems to have little to do with the song itself. But maybe that's just me. Seems like just wanting to get it out of the way, and paid for by New Zealand, so she can move on from 1989.

Last shot was pretty good, would've been better without the explanation though.
