Without Marra I like the idea of a bit of pace around the feet, as well as people who can take a grab. West played some ripper games on bigger opponents, nullifying their effect while kicking goals. Cody also took Weitering out of the game against the Blues sacrificing his own game.
Darcy deep, Naughty playing like he did roaming up the ground at the start of last year. Our strength lies in kicking scores from contests, the big guys can do it, the mediums & smalls can do it, & our kids can do it. Get the ball forward & lock it in and play to our strengths.

I think this is pretty close to what we’ll see so this is no criticism of your effort, but that is a one-paced footy side. If we’re only going with the 2 KPFs it’s a must to add pace around the edges imo. Would hope to see McNeil and Gallagher in the 22. Probably with one Harmes/Garcia as the sub and the other out.

Left halfway through the last today and didn’t see Jones go down with a suspected hamstring. Yikes.

Yep there is some fitness/injury concerns at the club. Weightman didn’t play and nor did English, Naughton looks like he needs another 6-7 weeks of solid training.

If Jones is missing rd 1 then at this stage this is what Id go with.

I disagree. I think it's by far the most likely option. I doubt we trust Buss in a key role from round 1.

JOD is viewed here as more of a third tall but in my personal opinion, his best football by far has been played in taller roles.

Not to mention 10 years of history suggesting that if Bev's first choice defensive setup isn't available, we go small.

I think JOD will make it as more of a 2nd KPD where as Buss from his improvement I saw in the 2s last year has more of the traditional full back skillset,

Disagree, there's a decent chance those are the three we roll out, definitely not "no chance". In fact we rolled those three out as our KPDs last year when Jones went down.
