It is fustrating when you see Bolton and Peveril named in a side that according to sheedy is ignoring game results and focusing on the development of the young players in the side and building a team that will take us to the top of the ladder.

He also refuses to tackle and always corrals players no matter who it is. Puts no pressure on whatsoever. Used to be a great tackler in his first few years. What has happened to him?
Think that broken arm on Anzac day years ago and scarred him.

coaches often opt for the 'not too many changes, as it will unsettle the team' approach, im not sure if thats just a defensive statement, defending their selection of players.. but dont u think 9 losses in a row and 138 point pounding last week suggests maybe there isnt a whole lot of balance in the side IMO? and the thought of bringing bendigo players IN who have a winning mentality would help? just thought id ask the question
the fact in the group of kids knocking on the essendon door (jolley, hocking, nash etc) no that eventually they will get a run with the big boys this year.. and be apart of the 'new' essendon squad in the near future.. its just when i hear about nurturing them into the essendon 22 makes me think.. there not infants are they? surely they no that they will be playing for the bottom team and there is a BIG chance that we will loose on their first match.. but i would think that could be motivation for the youngsters to come in and try and change the fortune of the essendon club.. especially games like V geelong where we do have a chance of winning if we play good footy.. why not give them the experience for the rest of the year.. so its not shock when essendon starts winning games again.. personally i would think that easing yourself into a loosing team.. not as much pressure and wouldnt be as nervous as opposed to easing yourself into the 2000 side.. agree? why cant we stop playing the passengers on the team that we will dump at the end of the season because im sure sheeds has a good idea of who will be around next year.. arnt they just taking up some kids place.. eg pev

2 reason for Reynolds selection I suspect
1. As other have pointed out give him a chance to prove himself - has hardly set world on fire in time at the club but has been injured
2. We are desperate for some forward line balance/structure. Watching last 2 games one of many things that hurt us was that the forward line was all over the show. We desperately need a crumbing/small forward. Monfries hasn't been doing great in this regard since Brisbane & I'd like to see him develop more in midfield role. Lovett coming back after the break will help enormously but until then...
For the record I don't think Reynolds is up to it but we're hardly overwhelmed with alternatives.
Dyson hasn't been great this year with exception of Carlton match. I think he's got a definite future but at present needs to work harder.
Anyway go Dons tonight will be watching & hoping Jolley plays.

when i saw dyson was in the side i was hoping it was gonna be for reynolds or pev
