Teammates that didn't like each other

That's an interesting one all would've played junior footy with each other and obviously all drafted to Essendon. What's the story?

Whats the details about Kernahan v SOS?

They were fine during their careers. In essence the 3 players the AFL were pushing hardest to roll over on over cap payments were Fraser Brown, SOS and Bradley. Brown told them to GAGF and SOS and Bradley rolled over, with SOS actively helping Collins take over and sell us to the joint he was CEO of (Docklands) for a dime. That's where it comes from.

Didn't Jordan lewis hate luke hodge because Lewis had a friend that passed away due to a drink driver?

Could be just a rumour

Seriously not true.

Lewis stated that he was hard on Hodge at the time, and gave him a piece of his mind. If the rumor that you float was true, it would damn Lewis to flog status. 10 years of playing footy together and now Lewis hates Hodge for DUI????

There are rumors around Taylor Duryea and Sicily not being simpatico, but that might just be outside perception.

That’s actually quite interesting. Is there truth to it or is it a mixture of facts and footy legend?

What specificly was Collins’conflict of interest?

Can't imagine anyone liking Sicily. Though he is very entertaining.

Collins was CEO of the now Etihad Stadium when he took over as President. We were quite promptly moved to play at Etihad from Princes Park without consultation with members at all. Whether anyone thinks we should still be at Princes Park in some capacity or not, there is no doubt that us owning our own lease should have been used as a bargaining chip to get a top deal at Etihad. Collins just shifted us to his stadium on a shit deal, was the whole reason he took over as prez and he sucked a lot of good people in simply because he wasn't Jack Elliott.

Thats rubbish too.

I guess my next qs would be a) why was he allowed to run for pres with that conflict and b) why was he elected?

Was he open about his plans to the members?

Not sure why he was allowed to run with that conflict at all, I suppose after years of Elliott rule such processes were bent or weakened. He wasn't open at all, but it should have been obvious to all who backed him. To a lot he seemed the ONLY alternative, no other candidates who weren't at some point associated with Jack were forthcoming such was his dominance of the club for 20 plus years.

Just rumours on bigfooty but Sam Mitchell wasn't supposed to be that popular with a lot of his Hawthorn teammates.
At the end of 2009 he was struggling with relationships with players. Improved a lot after he handed over the captaincy and was very well liked by the end of his time at Hawthorn by players. He put a lot of work into young players in his later years in his own time - really went above and beyond.

In his last 2 years though he had a lot of robust discussions with coaches around his on field footy role - they wanted him to spend more time winning contested ball and he felt he had done enough of the heavy lifting in his career and felt his foot skills off half back were of more value to the team. They came to an understanding where he'd still spend time on ball in either key moments or key matches, or when they felt a young player needed specific in game on the ball training/coaching. But he did piss the coaches off no end with his stubbornness in this area though.

You sure about that, I have heard them both say that Rocket was quite hard on him but they were on really good terms and that Rocket had no problem giving him a spray because Brian would just shrug it off and forget about it within 5 mins where other players would sook for days.

Not quite.

Lake was dirty on the medical team and Eade for continuing to play him when Lake was telling them he wasnt right in 2011. Lake left when McCartney was steering the ship for other reasons.
