Dunstall is an aloof chap though...not rude, just doesn't relate to people he doesn't know. Derm loves everyone.
This is a perfect example of public perception. You're spot on, Dermie is a great bloke, has time for everyone. Dunstall is an entirely different person to Dermie, and yet the two were devastating together as players, and work together well in the media. Dunstall once said he likes Dermie but they don't socialise as they are two completely different people. Being different and not socialising doesn't mean you hate someone.
I recall the first time I met the two of them. You'd see Brereton the flamboyant, controversial character and suspect he was slightly up himself. Then you'd see Dunstall the no-nonsense all business player who just got the job done with no bells or whistles. The two men I met were almost the complete opposite of what I expected. Dunstall was rowdy, dominating the conversation with locker room humour, whereas Brereton was just a lovely guy, so easy to talk to. It was a real eye-opener to me that things are not always what they seem from the other side of the fence.
