Yeah fantastic show. A show where when you hear the concept sounds like it could very easily go wrong and not be funny at all, but really loved it. The cast dynamics worked surprisingly well and the positive nature around the show is so good and so needed at the moment.

Think one of my favourite moments is when she's trying to figure out what bakery he goes to each morning and then you find out he stays up each night baking them for her. And it's little things like that that are just so heartwarming.
Nice point there. Her appointing him was fly off the cuff for him to fail. She didn’t gauge his person at all. He’s the bigger person, yeah
Sorry, did I say something untoward and Misty like?

Really enjoyed this show and thought Jason Sudeikis was brilliant in it - well deserved winner of the Emmy. The way he portrays the difficulties he is facing seeping into his normal upbeat person at work was done really well and his panic attack was incredibly realistic (at least according to my wife, who has suffered panic attacks throughout her life).

Like others have said, you can't really explain the show to friends/family without it seeming really naff. Some of the characters walk a fine line between being a character and a stereotype (Jamie is the only one that stays a stereotype), but there is so much warmth in the show, that the sometimes-cheesiness of it all was redeemable.

I think my favourite moments were:

- Nate's verbal take-down of half the team
- Coach Beard's karaoke version of Lady Gaga
- The darts game at the bar
- Ted jumping through the doorway and smacking his head (I'm a sucker for well-timed slapstick)
- The reveal of Nate's promotion

But each episode was littered with things that just made me smile.

The only thing that I actually didn't like was the on-field scenes. They looked absolutely terrible.

On screen depictions of sports almost always translate poorly. Off the top of my head 'The Damned United' did a terrible job at it, 'Green Street Hooligans' as well for football related movies. There's a reason they only show minimal amount of on pitch happenings.

Just got into this, watched first six eps. Very good. One tiny thing...the way everyone still says ‘ties’ instead of ‘draws’. Obviously for the American audience but surely even they could eventually ‘get it’ if they used ‘draw/s’.

Good cast, thought Juno Temple is as good as in this as she was in Vinyl which I thought was underrated Sudeikis very good. Just watched the eps with Dani Rojas...’football is life’

Came to this show late after it was recommended to me by a friend, I don't think there is a single weak link among the main cast members, Jason Sudeikis is brilliant as Lasso of course, but Juno Temple, Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein are all very good too. Hoping to finish Season 1 before Season 2 starts

Ended up with 13 major Emmy nominations:
Oustanding Comedy
Jason Sudeikis for Lead Actor in a Comedy
Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, Nick Mohammed, Jeremy Swift for Supporting Actor in a Comedy
Juno Temple, Hannah Waddingham for Supporting Actress in a Comedy
Oustanding Directing
2 for Outstanding Writing

Ep 1 is online

No spoilers for those who haven't seen it yet, but I think it is better than S1 so far, loving Roy's new role

I feel like I’ve been struck by fuzzy feeling lightning as Ted is back.
Keeps up the chipper vibe as last season left off.
It wasn’t the greyhound that pooped and pissed all over the pub. LOL
Anyways, Teds breakdown of how he felt about the dog dying in the pressor was a terrific, hold on, we learn from embrace fear and come out the other side.
Roy was awesome by owing his niece loads for swears but also by having a go at Rebecca for being too safe. The she should be struck by lightning quote drew a little smile by Keeley and ascertain that she needs to be more daring and not so safe.
Booking the psych in is a great tool as it’s not just personality but mindset that prospers.
Terrific episode for an ep 1.
love this show.

If you don't want spoilers you probably should avoid the thread.

Oh, I've already seen it. I was just trying to be considerate since S2 only dropped on Friday, in case anyone who hadn't seen it happened to be casually browsing the thread...

Season 2, ep 1.
Releasing weekly. Yeah thanks you are considering others, but not many watching the thread, so leeway. X

Quickly scrolled through to get down here because I have binged Season 1 last night and today and am about to watch the finale.

Wat a surprise gem
Do you have the warm feels inside ? On occasions

I'm actually grateful new episodes are coming out weekly... being an adult with real responsibilities means I don't really have time to binge watch shows anymore, unlike in my youth...

I’m grateful because it has soul. It gives you time to garner more worth.

Best part of this show is to motivate yourself to aim high. And it doesn’t matter what age you are.

That's something I can definitely use right now...
