Any word on whether you can use your home WiFi instead of mobile data? Brick walls ruin my signal next to the TV.

You won't be able to use home wifi if it is the same as mobile foxtel (which it will be)

Im an optus pre paid customer with an unlocked i phone 4s, can I purchase a telstra pre paid package and buy the season pass and stream the games live or will I need to have a shitload of data credit to do so?

Also will it be working for the nab cup this friday?

You would need a Telstra Next G or 4 G phone , doesnt need to be an iphone .

So glad I moved away from the shit carriers 2 years ago.... there's no sense in having a smartphone on a dumb network...

What about if I setup a wifi hotspot on my telstra network phone, then connect my laptop to my phones telstra 3g... will that work? So i can then plug my hdmi cable into the lappy and watch it on my TV?

hmmmmm....

Will not work. Wait til it is out and we will find ways to make it work.

At the cost of denying the majority of fans access to these services - by making them Telstra exclusive.

Why aren't 8 games available on free to air then?

Hopefully Telstra will make it available to all phone providers over time, might be a case to of being year one , lets get it right, then make it available to everyone.

If its Telstra prepaid it will work and will be unmetered.

Thanks mate, so basically all I have to do is get a telstra pre paid sim and pop it into my unlocked i phone 4 and I will get the next g network and I can the purchase the season pass and watch live games?

Yep, then get a HDMI converter for your phone and watch it all on your plasma (not sure about the quality though, about to find out myself).

For people who want to do it on pre paid you have to take in to account that there will have to be data credit on the phone in order to acess the stream, so even if you buy a season pass you will not be able to get on the stream unless you have internet credit.. it may be unmetered but if you have no credit whatsoever you wont be able to acess the stream page.

Dont think the quality would be too good on a big plasma, and wont the phones battery drain quickly seeing that the charging dock will be taken by the hdmi converter? You wont be able to charge it?

The device also takes the USB charging cable so you can charge while watching, check out the accessories on the Apple website so you can see how it works. It's called mirroring and basically what you see on your device is what you get on your TV.

I was planning on getting Foxtel before the season but this may be an option, the questions I have are:

Will i be able to watch it on my TV in good quality after plugging in my ipad?

Will I need 2 subscriptions if i want it on my ipad and iphone?

I will probably get the free trial for this weekend and see what it's like anyway.

Does anyone know what 'Limit 60min/session' means in the things you need to know section on the Telstra site.

Also it says there will be a screen size restriction for tablets so presumably the picture will not look too flash if you stream it to your telly.

Pretty sure it stops the stream after 60min, you can reload it instantly.

Probably better off restarting the stream after every qtr.

With my iPhone 4s the image is smaller than the screen (fills about 75% of the screen) but seeing as I only use that HDMI port for that purpose I just zoom the image. On my TV the zoom only effects the port it is used on.

Cheers :thumbsu:
