Melbourne actor Jeremy Kewley, best known for his role in the 1990s ABC television series Janus, has been arrested over 100 child sex offences.

The 54-year-old from Brighton was arrested this morning and faces 103 counts of indecent acts with a child under 16 and two counts of possessing child pornography.

The child sex offences allegedly occured in 2011.

He was due to appear in Melbourne magistrates court.

He appeared in multiple episodes of hit series Neighbours, Stingers and Blue Heelers, and was also the warm-up man for the AFL Footy Show.

He WAS the regular warm up guy but lost that job 5+years ago. Now only fills in when the regular (and much better) Michael Pope, or another guy Michael is training is unavailable. He might have worked 3 out of the 30 plus shows done last year. Hmmm, 2011 was when he was making a film in Melbourne called Frank & Jerry.... I wonder.

Original cast member Sam Newman said the comedian would be a great addition, giving the show fresh life as it goes into its 22nd year on Channel 9.

Hmm....maybe give it some fresh life by getting rid of the stale miserable grumpy old fart who hates footy and sits beside JB and the Hairbear

Gaz is fine. Because of the vaudeville nature of the show he's forced to follow that path. Has a good footy brain when he's serious and knows how to pull the show back when things are getting out of hand.

Getting the tosser from Collingwood back would be a retrograde step. Don't think Brayshaw is necessary either.

They must be concerned about slipping ratings to hire Hughes who is overrated in my view.

Funny, looking at their (AFL Footy Show) Facebook page and the number of negative comments.... boy oh boy talk about a publicity nightmare. They would be better deleting the whole post celebrating the arrival of Dave Hughes.

Hughsie was horribly unfunny in his one segment last year. Why the **** did they it was a good idea to bring him on full time!?! It's cringe worthy watching him with his goofy face laughing at his own jokes.

I don't really want to spend two hours watching a guy that starts screaming because he's not actually saying anything funny.

I actually dont mind Hughes - at least he's a vocal footy supporter and will take as well as he gets. I found Molloy the same. I always thought its what made Eddie a good host of the show too - wore his heart on his sleeve and copped it back in spades.

Seriously Lyon isnt bad - he at least is willing to take crap when its given. Brayshaw literally adds nothing to the show.

I'd never see Hughes in one of his stand up gigs, but I found him good value on the Project during his time on there. The Footy Show as a format may suit him.

The problem is all comedians have their time and then they become unfunny. It doesn't really help that Hughes was never really a great one to begin with. I only watch TFS every now and then but I think its time give it a miss completely.
