This one has been doing my head in for weeks.

T Mitchell v Cotchin

GWS can strangle points if they want to, while the Tigers are going to throw the kitchen sink at GC this week.

I've got a few tough decisions on who to start:

B.Goodes vs Hanley
Goodes hasn't played the Bombers yet while Hanley only got 60-odd last time against North and he will likely get a tag. Goodes seems to be the safer option while Hanley has a higher scoring potential

O'Meara vs Ball vs Titchell vs Fyfe vs Dalziell
One to miss out and be the emergency. Leaning towards O'Meara at this stage

Gawn vs Nicholls
Gawn has scored around 100 the last two weeks, while Nicholls has been around the 70-mark. Can Gawn keep it up or is Nicholls a better option?

Hanley. I think Goodes will get monstered by the Bombers talls.
JOM or Dalziell for me. I have both, and I'm starting JOM mostly cos I know nothing about Dalziell. Got him in this week as a bridging trade.
Go Gawn on form. Nicholls against Maric, vs. Gawn against Blicavs/Simpson. On paper Gawn has the easier task.

I doubt Titchell will be targeted that hard though. He's gotta be behind (at least) Hannebery, JPK, ROK, McVeigh in the queue for a tagger.
Also Titchell averaging about 5-6 tackles a game, so if there's lots of stoppages as GWS like to do sometimes, I'd still back Titchell in to get points that way.

I would bench redden, he's playing at Darwin which is hard to score well if you're an inside midfielder

Not sure about this. Redden often plays outside mid starting on the wings and can often lockdown a whole side of the ground. Combine that with his good endurance and I get the feeling he will go big this week, where as a Hodge type is prone to phoning it in against weaker opposition in the bulldogs.

Cyril or Porps and Crouch vs Shuey

Cyril against Bulldogs for sure. If Winderlich can smash the Doggies then Cyril surely can get amongst it.
Crouch vs. Shuey... Maybe Crouch since Danger is out, but not too confident on that one myself.

I am in the enviable position of picking Staker or Lee as my FWD cover for SJ. Any help?

Got to decide between two of Terlich, Goodes, Ellis.

Two of Hodge, T.Mitchell, Redden.

Two of Cox, Leuey, Nicholls.

Then Staker or Lee as cover for Stevie.

Hate these kinds of decisions often I end up with more points on my bench.

I would bench Terlich. I know it big after only 1 poor score but Goodes has also been in form and I would back in Ellis

Bench Hodge. Mitchell is obviously in amazing form and Redden has Melbourne

I don't wanna call your ruck decision ;)

Staker has Melbourne so I play him over Lee

Stake against Melb looks tasty...

Take a risk on Gawn (who has gone 100, 96 and 96 in L3) or stick with Jacobs?

Yeah just not sure about Stakes. The game is gonna be pretty low scoring DT wise I reckon, lots of dropped marks in sticky conditions that neither team is that comfortable with.

I'd stick with Jacobs. Gawn will prolly get 75 or so and start well, but Burger should run him ragged all over the ground.

Cheers for the inputs dudes.

Someone mentioned above a good point about Melb and Bris playing in Darwin...which can often mean lower scores. I think playing against melbourne will offset some of that...and as someone else mentioned Redden has good endurance.

Bench Terlich? Not sure if I can do that with his 3 100+ scores in a row before last round. He got 85 on Brisbane last time. I'm leaning towards benching Ellis.

Hodge is a straight up unknown quantity...could get anything between 120 and 50. He has done good against the bulldogs but that was in 2011.

Depth is great and all but next year will plan to be weighted a bit more strongly towards my players on the field.

I'd bench Ellis against Freo, I unfortunately have to play him (over Clisby...) Teams have produced big scores in Darwin before, but I tend to think with it being a Lions v Dees matchup the DT scoring will be low, just like Suns v Tigers in Cairns. I'd think it'd be similar to wet weather footy, safety first and good hands will be at a premium.

God damn I wish T-Mitch wasn't so good. He is ruining my completed team by dropping bombs on the bench. Now I am thinking I should play him over one of JPK or Priddis. He's getting in my head

Gargh

yeh i would bench mitchell still, JPK/Priddis are still (relatively) consistent.
personally im playing cotchin a head of mitchell because im a bit worried that mitchell played a lot up forward last week

Same here. Looks like they might be trying to develop B.Jack a little more, perhaps with Titch up forward as long as the game's in control.

Guess my two of Cox, Nicholls, Bartel question has been answered for this week -_-.....

what about gibbs or grimes???.....gibbs needs a stint on the pine to think about what he has done over the last 3 weeks!!!
