Yeah righto

Look I'm ready to move on from this, but first I will kindly ask you to point out where I said that Plagueis ruined Acolyte s1 for me, rather than Acolyte being cancelled = no plagueis show in the future = no loss for me, and I'll put me hand up and admit yep, that didn't come out right, because I am relatively sure that never happened.

I never said you did, which is a bit ironic after your bleating about me not reading your posts correctly.

This thread trying once again to be worse than the actual show, but falling short.
I honestly don't think the show is all that bad. Admittedly, it's hard to get into at first, I watched the first couple of episodes months ago and only just got round to finishing it, but it wasn't too bad in the end. Far from perfect but better than people give it credit for.

The show was fine without being spectacular. It’s Star Wars fans that suck. Can’t let other people just enjoy things. Lots of shows struggle to set everything up in the first season and also deliver a compelling story in its own right. If Breaking Bad was a Star Wars show, it never would have seen a second season.

What is it with you and Breaking Bad when it comes to Star Wars?

Ahsoka is getting a second season.

Maybe this show was just... Not even that good, and also it's restricted itself in the timeline it takes place.

Some also considered it lore breaking or retconning, and that's one thing that you have to be very careful with for star wars fans.

I am aware acolyte didn't invent it, but it's given it the largest exposure. The whole bleeding Saber crystals with nasty thoughts to make them red is the stupidest shit I've heard. I much prefer to original theory that sith use synthetic crystals which always come out red for reasons.

Actually not even star wars fans but any fanbase. A lot of Tolkien fans are not happy with rings of power.

Restricted itself? What is that logic?

One is run by Filoni and the other by a newcomer. It’s pretty obvious why one is getting a second season over the other. I rate Acolyte over Ahsoka for having fresher ideas, more potential and more interest outside of ‘look, it’s those cartoon characters that I used to watch come to life’.

Yes it's a bit strange that the guy who has spent a number of pages in this thread complaining that he wants fresh products with non-George Lucas characters thinks a show set 200 years before anything is somehow 'restricted' and not very good.

You rate it over Ahsoka for concepts, but do you think it was executed better?

I think the space whales part is some of the best Star Wars we've had recently. The visuals and music and the sense of wonder hit all the marks for me personally. The rest of the show wasn't bad enough to drag it down, just mediocre enough to let it shine.

I thought the space whales were ****ing shit, as was the idea of travelling Jonah style, in its mouth. Cartoon concept (which adds up, I guess).

I thought Acolyte was much better done. Episode five in particular was shocking and entertaining.

Episode 5 was the lightsaber battle yeah?

Yes it was shocking and entertaining, but it's also where I have dropped off and yet to resume. I kinda have this sense that the series has peaked. Maybe that's on me for reading spoilers already, but, even knowing the destination, the journey should still be interesting, shouldn't it?

Filoni isn't the second coming, but has a good rough idea what star wars is. He just can't execute a long, or even short form story or characters. Basic themes and vibes though, he seems to have that down.

Perhaps in that regard, he is indeed the heir to Lucas. Actually nah **** that, Lucas could do characters too.

Don't feel bad for not resuming. As part of the 75% of the audience that never completed the show it is due to your hard work and dedication that the Acolyte became the least watched Star Wars show of all time and was ultimately cancelled. The global Star Wars community thanks you for your service.

"This show is terrible!"
"Did you watch it?"
"No."

Yep, that just sums up the intelligence of your average toxic Star Wars fan.

Comprehension not your forte i see.
I understand what "never completed the show" means. Do you?

'don't like it don't watch it'
'ok, I won't'
'then you can't say you don't like it!'

Can't win with some people.
There's a difference between saying "This didn't grab me, so I stopped watching." and "I didn't watch it all but I can definitively say it was terrible!".

I'm fine with people saying the former. As I've said before, I watched the first few eps months ago and nearly put a pin in it myself, but when I got to watching the rest, I didn't mind it. I'm not suggesting it's a must watch for anyone who did give up on it, just don't sit on here and bitch about it (not aimed at you specifically).

For someone who whinges so much about others' lack of comprehension you sure did fail to comprehend what he was saying.

Also really weird as someone that has gone on about wanting to watch shows without legacy characters that perhaps the most unique/new show created comes out and you don't even make it to the end of one season. Maybe you just don't like SW anymore?

When he posted that he posted in response to a comment about people who did start the show and did not continue with it, so the comment, which has since been clarified, was a little silly at that time.

I mean this could be likely isn't it? And not uncommon amongst many people who once considered themselves passionate fans.

I don't like ****ing Port Adelaide either in it's current incarnation, matter of fact I think I hate it, but there's not a policy that says I cannot still watch the games and post my grievances, heck knows I ain't alone.

Sack Hinkley.

I want to watch GOOD SHOWS, and GOOD MOVIES. I believe Disney has fumbled two absolute home runs with Obi and Boba shows, so I have no confidence in the ability to manage legacy characters. Then they insert a couple of cameos in to this for no good reason other than memberberries, with the exception of Yoda whose age and standing at least befits the times.

I think the best way forward is to focus on original situations and original characters until there's some demonstration that the quality can do justice to fan favourites. I would be extremely hesitant and extra critical to watch a show around more OT characters.

It's a TV show. Find a better use of your time than hate watching and moaning?

Well, I did because I stopped watching it lol? I was never hate watching either, I was optimistically watching, and some of it was good. None of what I watched was god awful. None was great.

I think you gotta find a better use of your time than following me around accusing me of saying things I haven't, continually overlooking what I post to make comments about me beyond my opinions.

I happen to enjoy talking about Star Wars still, even if I am not praising it or talking it up, the same I still enjoy posting here about ****ing Travis Boak turning over the footy about 20 times in the prelim, or Connor Rozee ruining a great semi final win with a dreadful post match interview.

I'm not sure why you continue to compare a tv show/franchise to a football team but you do you.
