Somehow someway I find nft’s more boring than just plain old crypto.

If it’s ran like NBA Topshot then it will be huge, the trading card industry is massive right now this will be a digital version, I got in on NBA Topshot at the beginning and made thousands of $$ can’t wait for this

It's great if the AFL set it up like an 90s collector card series. Nothing wrong with that.

It's not so great if they set it up for people expecting to profit from this.

How they distinguish the two given what the NFT space is designed for is something that I don't think the AFL appreciate.

Blog post with exclusive AFL virtual rave, only for hodlers:

The AFL has hooked up with Hong Kong-based game software and venture capital company Animoca Brands – who were kicked off the Australian Stock Exchange in March 2020 – to sell gamblers sucky JPEGs or something like that.

How much can I buy the Brian Lake choking incident for

No idea I cashed in while they were hot, will do the same with this
You're not going to wait around for the promised benefits and experiences?

Scroll down a little from the top to see the NBA graph:

It's painful.

I have to come back to this. What it looks like is you're happy to buy one and sell it on to another footy fan who you know will lose money on something that never had any utility or real value.

It's a bit icky.

Oh the humanity

You don't think so?

It is literally nothing, sold by a multi-billion dollar company to people looking to scratch out a bit of a profit by screwing other fans.

You can't hang it on a wall, it's infinitely reproducible, unlike a signed jersey or something.

It's a terrible thing to be involved with.
