This guy is so underrated and it took until the sixth page to find a mention of him shows how underrated he is, he doesn't even make the lists.

For most on BF, late bloomers are always remembered for their early years and thus pigeon-holed.

On the Essendon board, there's a thread of the player you would most like at the club (realistically), I went with J McVeigh. He'd suit our game plan down to the ground, a quick goal scoring midfielder.

Not that players necessarily want to go and play with their brothers (see Warnock), it wouldn't hurt that Essendon has M McVeigh and from all reports they are close brothers.

My list is now expanded:

1. S. Prestigiacomo
2. J. McVeigh

I didn't name J.McVeigh as I believe he is a gun. Very good player.

Ladies and gentlemen... it gives me great pleasure to announce that the League's most UNDERRATED player is.....

DRUM ROLL

Oh my God! Yes! I hoped it would be! Tom Rockliff from the Brisbane Lions! Come on up here Tom!!

Cue Music
V/O: Tom Rockliffe was Pick 5 in the 2008 Pre Season draft for the Brisbane Lions, is a 184cm, 83kg midfielder and goal sneek forward. He has been BOG and among the best several times for the Lions reserves this year, though he has yet to debut for the seniors. Given the scant attention that the Brisbane firsts get in the media, it is no surprise that only 0.29% of people who support clubs other than the Brisbane Lions have ever heard of him, thus making him the Leagues most under-rated player!!

I have definetley heard of him, good to hear he is tearing it up in the ressies! Remember when he was drafted and it sounded like he was nearly ready made for AFL, how long do Lions supporters believe it will be to he debuts?

I personally can't offer an opinion, as being a Melbournite I sadly don't get to see the ressies play. (Would love to be able to roll up to the Gabba every other week, watch the ressies then watch the seniors, but won't trade living in Bris for living in Melb, so I can't).

As far as the Lions posters who do see him play... they are pretty positive about him playing this year if he keeps his form going.

Interestingly, I saw him in an interview recently and he said that he was the most UNDERRATED player in the Lions ping-pong tournaments. :thumbsu:

Corey Enright - absolute gun, I rate him higher and higher every week. Probably the best versatile half back in the league in the sense that he is equally potent in defence as he is in attack. Awesome overhead (takes everything under any degree of pressure), at ground and at disposal.

Dale Thomas

Funnily enough this has some accuracy.

He is shockingly overrated by the media, we all know that. But as a result, everyone thinks he is rubbish because his performance doesn't live up to the hype. When in reality, he is always a good contributor and works as hard as anyone in our team. Does all the hard stuff. In saying that, his game on Sunday was crap. He gets a pass because he was coming off injury though.

Jobe Watson:

He's not the flashiest midfielder going around but he's definitely one of the best - rarely wastes a disposal, regularly wastes the opposition.[/quote]

Until he was Linged....

No. 1 is definitely Paul Chapman. IMO he gives all of Bartel, Scarlett, Johnson and Selwood a shake for the second best Cat, but is never talked about as highly as them, or even Corey.

Others are Tyson Edwards, Adam Simpson, Roger Hayden. Probably the most underrated player at Port is Jacob Surjan.

Agree 100% and was just about to post the same. The man is an absolute gun, the Cats best player after Ablett IMO. Great to watch, Geelong fans must love this guy.

I don't really care for comparisons with other defenders because he's pretty unique as a one way player, but this is just false.

He's playing very well this year, but he's been Top 5 in the B&F twice before, he was unlucky to miss AA a couple of times in the early part of this decade, and he's only getting the attention this year because he's come back from injury - not dissimilar to the attention Hudgton received last year.

And he'd just about win your B&F if it were called now, and in some people's eyes is first in line for AA FB... get my point? He's never played better.

Enright

Has sacrificed his career for the good of his team, and that needs recognition.

He could easily have gone elsewhere for more dollars and become a far 'better' or more-hyped player, ie, played a midfield role. But no, he's stayed loyal. Yes, he's won accolades and been superb doing what he does. So I'm sure he's happy, and so are all Geel fans.

But. from an unselfish viewpoint, I'd love to see him playing in the middle, week in, week out, just to see what he's really capable of.

Is a great kick and, what ppl don't notice, is that he's also accountable.
