I was impressed by them managing to beat Zimbabwe A and I don't rate Kenya or the Netherlands without Cooper/van der Gugten

The Dutch batting does seem quite light on, but they are still significantly more experienced than Canada.

I think Canada did well to win against Zim A, and to almost win as well, but it probably says just as much about Zimbabwe as it does about Canada.

Bukhari/Malik/Sielaar is not a bowling core to be sniffed at.

Nepal is the biggest unknown for me. They clearly have the talent, but they just need to put it together.

Uganda and Kenya are the most likely to be relegated IMO.

Samiullah Shenwari seems to be working out his frustration from the last match this time around, very solid 33* so far. At one point he was 4 from 28. Afghans are 4/117, Young has three.

Netherlands are 1/45 after 11 against Canada. Pervez 1/14, Ben Cooper 22*.

Kenya are doing worse than I expected. 3/30 after 10, Sarel Burger 3/10.

Uganda are moving solidly if slowly, 0/29 after 10.

Najibullah Zadran went berserk with six overs left, ended with 83 off 50 to get Afghanistan to 8/246. Young and O'Brien with three wickets each.

The Netherlands are 3/120 after 30, Cooper out for 57.

Kenya 5/82 after 28, Snyman with 2/8.

Uganda 4/66 after 27, Paras Khadka with an amazing 3/7 after 8. Perhaps he's used Sleep Powder on the Ugandans.

Apart big Dwayne whats happened to Bemuda? Played in the 2007 WC but never heard of since. Also I see 6 non tests teams have ODI status. I take it its the 4 in the world cup plus PNG and Hong Kong?

Population happened to Bermuda.

It's population is just too small to be making world cups regularly

Ireland are 2/70, Hamid Hassan the man again with both wickets.

The Netherlands closed at 7/251, Barresi top scoring with 83*.

Kenya recovered to get to 8/191 thanks to Nelson Odhiambo's 54. Williams took two wickets to go with Burger and Snyman.

Uganda stuggled to 146 all out, Brian Masaba top scoring with 43.

Have been demoted to WCL division four along with the US.

Yes.

Afghanistan have won their first match against Ireland in years, bowling them out for 175 to win by 71 runs. Hassan took three, Aftab and Mirwais took two each. Stirling was the highest scorer for Ireland with 36.

The Netherlands won by 67 runs, Kingma taking four wickets and Rippon three. Tariq top scored with 61 off 55.

Namibia had a fairly comfortable five wicket win over Kenya, with Baard getting out just short of a century. Odhimabo was again Kenya's best with 3/34.

And Nepal have made a meal of their chase, losing by two runs. Their middle order completely collapsed to Uganda's spinners, and it took their number ten hitting two sixes in the 48th over to get them back in it. Special mention to Basant Regmi for his 54 ball 15. I don't know if the pitch was difficult or what, but Uganda just strangled them.

Also on Rippon, I really like his bowling action (and the fact he's a Chinaman bowler). Very smooth.

I would have expected Nepal to be among the relegation candidates given they fared so porrly in the WC qualifiers. But they do have strcutres in places (alebit reportedly very T20 focussed) and maybe the next generation could be the start of something Ireland-like, except with a population and location that might see the BCCI interested in them moving towards full membership.
Playing the World T20 preliminary rounds was apparently a big boost for their cricket. Sporting-wise it is a nation that usually only fares well in archery, so to be on the big stage was a big thing in the national psyche.

Nepal put in a good bowling effort today, bowling out the Netherlands for 158. Rippon played a basically lone hand with 53. Two wickets to Kami, Khadka, Gauchan and Regmi, the latter becoming the first player to take 100 WCL wickets.

Canada has reached a very defendable 6/257, with Rizwan Cheema blasting a quick 53 to open, with Dhaliwal (93) and Hansra (43) putting together a century partnership. Nelson Odhimabo was again the pick of the bowlers with 4/46.

Lots of hard work for Uganda, but they managed to piece together 9/188, Mukobe high scoring with 46, Kotze taking 3/34.
