Not sure the theme needed to have players mock domestic violence, slavery and terrorism. As a headline theme you can see why it could be seen as okay. Player stupidity went to those areas.

Doubt the club would know what the costumes would be going into the day. And from all reports it's the behaviour rather than the costumes that lead to the bans. Probably would have just been fines and possibly out of the headlines without them acting stuff out

Why would it be seen as ok? "Troublesome couples" is just asking for trouble. It's a bad taste theme and it was actually executed in the way a theme like that is intended.

Geelong aren’t even hiding it anymore. 😂

Soft cap working beautifully for us.

No surprises it was taken to the proper channels first.
Wouldn't expect anything less tbh.

How long do Geelong supporters have to keep telling everyone that the AFL “ticked” off on Geelong’s latest scam venture before they catch themselves in a lie? 😂

Must be exhausting to always be on your guard.

Wonder how many Geelong fans had the shits about Juddy’s Visy deal all those years ago…think you’d find some pretty hypocritical takes 😂

Nothing to see here as long as Former St Joseph’s college graduate, Geelong Advertiser journalist, “News Geelong”/GEST media reporter Mitch Cleary is Johnny-on-the-spot asking soft hitting questions whenever Geelong does anything questionable. 😂
