Isn't it a bit hypocritical of the AFL to fine Hinkley for the post-game incident but now use it to subtly promote interest in the final match of gather round.

As an aside; looks like two byes for us next season playing in the season opener as the Lions presumably unfurl the flag.

It's the AFL, they'll do anything for a dollar.

Happy that we aren’t playing Round 0 again. The first real bye should be when half of the season has already been played and not during Round 2 like it was this year.

Made even worse by Andrew Dillon denying it and saying it was just a coincidence that they scheduled Port/Hawthorn as a standalone game to finish the biggest home and away round of the season. The guy is a weasel.

There’s nothing wrong with trying to cash in and build up a potential new rivalry, but only if you own it from the start. It’s just cowardly from the AFL.

The AFL does everything for a quick buck and to generate the most amount of interest. Like Jimmy Webster getting suspended for 7 weeks. Not 6 weeks. Not 8 weeks. But 7 weeks… all so his return would be timed against the club he copped the suspension against.

What a farce of a club GC is. Can only exist under an AFL type model, will never be sustainable.

GC is a blackhole for professional sport.

At least we only lost our dignity for a week when we rocked up in this

Hard to believe the actually went backwards. What the **** were they thinking?

So we’re in the ridiculous opening round against Suns. Only game on the Saturday and starting time of 4.15. You would think in the Qld heat of early March that they would schedule it for later start?

The AFL are pathetic in so many ways.

Just had a fortnight learning all about Continental Tyres with their trade obsession.
Now we're drip fed the fixture all week to keep them in the spotlight a little longer. Next week they drag out the drafts over 3-4 days. Still in the headlines.

AFLW Grand final end of November.

I think Trade Radio only exists because of Croc(of shit)media and how they got into bed with the AFL.

AFL is a 12 month business. Preseason games are late February/ early March. Season is March to very late September. Trade/FA period starts a week after GF for 2-3 weeks. Draft is late November. December/ January are filled with preseason training media reports to compete with the summer of Cricket. AFL never leaves the airwaves.

Maybe just pay no attention to either until they are both over and then look at what happened.

It's what I do..
