Fine to promote but don’t think opening round is the way to do it.
This. So much this.
Could have all northern states playing at home, in marquee slots.

And everyone else play around that.

Having lived in Sydney and Brisbane I don’t think the AFL have ever actually spoken to real people in either city. There’s a big crossover between fans of both codes, especially in Brisbane. Every time someone from the AFL or a journo say something about how Aussie Rules is going to become the number 1 code in QLD etc. it only drives people away. It’s also never going to happen.

I’m not sure if anything can ever make GWS a success but it won’t happen by getting people to ditch their NRL teams or picking fights with them.

To be fair the NRL aren’t a whole lot better with mistaking how big they are outside of NSW/QLD, it just gets ignored by everyone outside of NRL media.

The point is to encourage everyone to watch the games though.

It would be if St Kilda had any major sponsors. Without looking at his polo, could anyone have just named a major sponsor of the Saints off the top of their head?

I would have said KFC..

Dare would have been my guess.
You're right on this one (I do recall seeing them front or back of a guernsey in recent years).

Apparently it's Red Rooster now. Were they sponsored by KFC (I genuinely have no idea)?

Oh I was just making a joke about the fact their badge says "St K.F.C" on it lol, had no idea whether they were ever actually sponsored by them.

It wont just be St Kilda though, all clubs will or should be using this loophole if they aren't already.

Changed the logo a day or so ago.

McClelland trophy money spent already.

Dodoroesque from the Bombers. Get rid of 9 to not lose it to Kako.

.... No one bids on him before 9.

They gained next years melbourne first for it and traded down for points. It's actually not a bad deal. Pick 9 was probably too high for him so they thought, lets use a few combined later picks on him and get a next years first and well Melbourne could be shite next year.

Gambling on next years draft being as good as this one is touted to be. Clubs have been trying to get into this one.
Could have had a good kid this year in a strong draft and their NGA player.

Certain clubs have and it's more a front loaded draft. We traded out but we're derps.

If someone like North wanted to trade up and give us a future first I probably would have done it. We apparently have an NGA player that will potentially be top 10 next season so a high pick to get in front of a bid would have been handy.

Our list management team is up there with Dodoro
