She said last night the kids were born 6 weeks ago and were healthy in Ross' case. I don't think it's worth kicking up a stink about but I can see why st kilda would ask the question at the same time. I dunno, if I take sick leave and have a medical certificate does my employer have the right to pry? If they tried to put pressure on the players to stay then that's garbage.

The bigger issue at St Kilda is that that this just reflects where their club is at as a whole. Leaking of a personal issue like this wouldn't happen at a club where things are humming. If things were right off the field at St Kilda perhaps Ross does hold off on going back, or if he did go back he'd have the full support of the club and his teammates. But how things are why would you stay around if you're Ross when you've got a young family that needs you back in Melb?

I think people are reading into this too much. For all we know the players missus are struggling with the newborn child and may not have the support around them required. These are strange times and a persons mental health is more serious now than ever, particularly if the players partners have PTSD or post natal depression or a just struggling to cope. It is hard enough looking after a new born with two parents let alone twins in one of the players cases.

These blokes play for a professional footy club so they would have been upfront with the reasons for them requiring leave. The issue here for me is the leaking of the story and then that lying mole bending the truth to create a story. There is no way that players would discuss their grievances about this with a journalist (nor would 99% of them have any).

Membrey's kid isn't born yet and Ross has 5 week old twins. Agree that the circular argument Jd was trying to engage misses the point.

End of the day if they want to return home to be with family, then that's the start and end of what the public needs to know.

Not many miss games 6 weeks after when there isn't a medical emergency. She only has a story because of a leak. And the leak wouldn't know about the private conversations between Ross and officials had about the matter. Unless the leak is a pretty high up official

Good on the players in question in taking the decision to be with their partners and babies. A brave move to make in an industry rife with toxic masculinity. 10 times out of 10 I would do the same, there isn’t anything more important to me. I don't agree with her. What I'm saying is the saints shouldn't be copping a pile on because we don't know the full story of what they've said with Ross. We only have a leaked story to a journo. They can and probably did ask respectfully if he could delay going back or what was happening. But she's making it sound like they hounded him which I find hard to believe
