The Australian Greens - What are they Doing?

It's more of a sad reflection on how out of touch the Greens are.

Australia is always a bit slow to catch on, but usually follows eventually.

It’s not like the public have got any control real control of how our power is generated.

Even if you’re not a green surely achieving power generation & production in a more environmentally friendly nature is only a good thing.

Change must be really scary if you honestly think we can’t do things better.

I know somebody who is a greens member.
Unfortunately he's close to those who love to protest so much so i had to block him from facebook.
What i detest about the greens is the fact that they don't want to do any logging or clearing to help prevent bushfires.

Can you show me the evidence of this? I'm genuinely interested.
I can very much show you that.
Bloke was in Nowra just near the forest.
Council was doing some clearing.
Greens were protesting about it.

That's a link to a Facebook page, am I supposed to trawl through every post to find the one you are referring to?
I'm interested in a direct link that supports your original statement.

I'm blocked by the douche who said it ok.
You need to back off right now and stop asking for evidence.

So, you have no evidence?
I'll take that as a no. But Ive followed your link to the Shoalhaven Greens policies from last year:

The Australian Greens support hazard reduction burns and back-burning to reduce the impact of wildfire when guided by the best scientific, ecological and emergency service expertise.

It's all about trends my friend. Just like global warming. One cool day in summer doesn't end CC.

They kinda trend higher but did they peak in 2010?

2010 HoR 11.76%. 1 seat. Senate 13.11%. 9 seats.
2019 HoR 10.40%. 1 seat. Senate 10.19%. 9 seats.

Are you in Melbourne? This has been a shithouse summer. I've counted 5 hot days where you would get in the pool.

Time will tell I guess if they've peaked. Really massive task to unseat LNP or ALP overall though.
Yep, I'm a Melbournite. Personally I've loved the summer overall. Has definitely felt like a cool January. December was shit. Felt too hot. Not sure on the actual averages though, that's just gut feel.
Globally though, the evidence is there beyond temperature measurements.

Any 16 or 17 year old motivated enough to optionally vote is probably as likely to vote Liberal. Think private schools.
80 % left voting or something until they smarten up, well some do. Greens don't give a flying f about people other than there vote, no different to the major parties, but unlike lab/lib they won't be held accountable for that either.

I had a high school economics teacher who had been an advisor to Doug Anthony. Being a Nat he knew f*** all about economics in the first place but that's another story, it didn't matter though because he usually spent each lesson slagging off Hawke and Keating. I love anecdotal evidence.
Doug was a pretty good bloke, can't comment on the teacher, but the Nats are just socialists looking for a hand out.

Haha, you've only got to read the greens updated policy to realise a few sweeteners have been included to make them "appear" to be supporting reduction burns.

They'll end up going the same way as the Democrats

I doubt it.

Environmental concerns aren't going away any time soon. Probably ever. And the major parties aren't interested in addressing them.

Have you made the same social media post about the Liberals new tax plan? You're about the most politicised person on this website. But live up to your name and don't admit it. You're a snake in the grass and the most dangerous type of person involved in this issue.

Environmental concern is one thing, childish hysteria is another.

They're doing the cause more harm than good.
