He's a deep-lying playmaker with terrific passing ability (both short & long - was in the top 5 in Europe for passing accuracy last season, obviously Swansea's playing style contributed to this but it's still an impressive feat - Xavi is often praised for his remarkable ability to retain the ball and the same argument could be made for Barcelona's playing style boosting his numbers, I would say that these 2 players are a big factor in why their teams are able to dominate possession), made the 3rd most tackles in the EPL last year and has shown for both Swansea & Great Britain that he is capable of controlling the tempo of a game (a very underrated asset).
