Also jota being left out of wolves first couple of games is it likely they were just preserving him for a possible move , or was he actually out of favour ?
Bit of both, would have probs been on the bench.

Hoever never really impressed me so I'm not too disappointed. It'll be interesting to see how much of a go he gets at Wolves and whether he can develop into the player everyone thinks he will be.
Initially he did for me, but he's gone backwards in my eyes.
Fancies himself as a RB in the Trent mould so may go alright as a WB for Wolves.

A little perplexed - why pay that much for Jota when the Werner fee was similar?
Not sure about this one, has never seemed that deadly to me but haven't seen a huge amount of him. Has similar numbers to Mane when we got him, but Mane was always one of those guys that seemed super dangerous.
Have to trust Klopp tho.

we’re paying less than £4m up front as opposed to £50m upfront...

Maybe it was way too early in the window. We've had 3 months to line up deals to sell more players.

It's almost like it's overly cautious though - it's not like they wouldn't have had flexibility by taking on debt and in this case Werner is almost certainly a superior player and a potential superstar- Jota I just don't see having a high ceiling - has anyone here watched wolves and thought - I'd like to see that guy play for us?
I take the point about wages though. The thing that gives me hope is just our recent history though, so we'll see.

they’re different players though. A winger vs Striker, and he scored 15 or so last year for Wolves. Let’s say this means Mane or Salah can go central more too.

Fact is we can not keep playing our front 3 in basically every single fixture .. so we need someone , hopefully along with minamino to be able to do the job in more games and rotate our lineup more than we have been ..

Jota a big surprise though wasn’t someone I think anyone had considered for us .. Klopp has a habit though of picking out someone with the attributes he likes and turning them into a Star in his set up

You say that, but Jota is only 23 and which is young. Hoever is fighting for a spot with the two youngest members of the first team (Gomez and TAA) - so I don't think it's not without some forethought that these specific players are being sold. We've still got Jones and Elliott on the books, both of whom seem a lot closer to the first team than Hoever or Rhian. Nor realistically would I say that both of those players represented our future, they are two talented youngsters sure but it's not a crippling blow to lose them.
Yeah absolutely, it's not a crippling blow to lose Hoever and he was obviously considered third choice at RB and considering the first two options at RB are very young in TAA and Neco, we obviously didnt see a way he could break through. He can play at CB too but Gomez is young and established and it's a tougher position to break into a very young age.

I think he will be a top player though, hopefully he does well at Wolves.

I've watched quite a bit of Wolves over the past couple of seasons as they are actually really exciting to watch. Jota has always impressed me, not just Jota, but Traore, Jiminez, Neves, Docherty all really good players. So it's a really interesting deal for us.

What a 24 hours it's been for us!

---------Adrian
Neco ??? Matip Tsimikas
Keita Wijnaldum Ox
Minamino Origi Jota

Just need a back up CB now and our second XI is looking bloody good. Then we have players outside of that as well in Shaqiri, Milner, Elliot, Jones...

I like the Jota signing but not so much the fee. I would have thought something in the region of 25m would have been more the mark. He was fantastic for Wolves last season and I have no idea why he seems to be out of favour there now. I do wonder if the players around him and the understanding they had did make him look better than he is.

Feels like a great signing. You could point to the Werner fee but the wages would be astronomically different. Made sense to spend first XI wages where it would immediately improve us.

Hoever could be anything but for the minute turning 90k into 13m when the kids played a couple of cup games is astounding. In a roundabout way he could be another Coady type signing for Wolves. I guess. You know?

Now. Centre half.

Not sure about this one, he is a good player no doubt, but kinda just a poor man's Werner. Operates in similar areas between the left side and upfront

Was hoping we'd be buying a front 3 backup who can eventually succeed them, but I dunno if Jota would ever be good enough to consistently start for Liverpool. Would love to be proven wrong though

He'll be serviceable and will have 8-10 goals in him, but 45 mil is a big fee for a backup
