Murmurings out of France we’ve reached agreement with Watford for Sarr in the region of €35m-€40m

also rumours Kabak still tracking along
Why would be chasing someone like Sarr? I’m not against it at all but our transfer approach under Klopp previously doesn’t seem to accommodate another signing in his mould.

I suspect this is more of a hurry along to potential buyers of Shaqiri/Grujic/Wilson etc. "we need to get this transfer done so we can buy other players"

Not too many ITK sources saying we are still in for Sarr.

How about a decent defender who can play in the first team if needed (i.e. not a 19-20 year old)?
Kabak is supposed to be that guy. Starts for Schalke and he's not raw like Koumetio, Van Den Berg and Rhys Williams. Also an upgrade on Nat Phillips.

I think he fits the mould a lot better than our other options up front, and if we were to sign him we'd have a terrific back-up front 3 (Jota-Minamino-Sarr) that have similar qualities to the starting front 3.

I love Origi but he feels like a bit of a square peg in a round hole unless we play 4-2-3-1. Wilson is a one trick pony and Brewster just needs games. Shaq and Chamberlain aren't available often enough. I'd be getting rid of all 5 of these guys if the right offers came to fund a move for Sarr.

Didn’t watch the game live, but have seen the goals. Some nice stuff by Shaq, Taki and Jones from outside the box.

7-2 win overall, with goals to Shaq, Jones (x2), Taki (x2), Grujic and Div. 👍
I watched the game. Some really good goals. It's nice to see how deep we bat this season, when players dont play you sometimes forget about their quality and that's true in the case of guys like Shaq and Taki. Taki is a baller and is only going to get better and Shaq gives us real depth in wide areas with good delivery and set pieces.

Curtis Jones is a fantastic young footballer though, has all the tools to make it and have a big career with Liverpool. He brings goals into midfield which we sorely lack sometimes (outside of Ox). Jones' ability to play between the lines with great technique, decision making and ability to finish means he will play a big part for us this season.

A few negatives though, Neco has a bright future but he is still some way short for me to be really relied upon, I wouldnt want to see TAA go down to a long term injury. If we were in a big game I'd much rather see Milner at RB ahead of Neco.

Fabinho is a terrific one on one defender and doesnt lose many battles but he is not a CB by trade so when he is the one the kids and a new player in Kostas look to in the second half, it fell apart a bit.

By that I mean he's a great defender but his organisational skills are lacking. In the first half we were not troubled at all, VVD had everyone organised and everybody knew what they were doing. Fab came on to replace him and suddenly we were all over the shop at the back, particularly on the right, Fab still excellent in any spots where he had to defend one on one but the back line overall went to water a bit with the lack of organisation. I think Fab can definitely pinch hit for us but will always have to be partnered by VVD or Matip for mine.

R.Williams looked quite good on the ball but was rash in a couple of tackles and his decision making at times was poor. Against better opposition I think he would struggle a bit, he was better when he had his hand held by VVD but again, really poor opposition but a good introduction and experience for him. A good debut overall.

Tsimikas impressed though. I have absolutely no worries with him being excellent back up to Robbo at LB and would feel comfortable having to play him even in a big game if Robbo was not available. His delivery is excellent.

Overall a walk in the park with the standouts being Taki and Curtis Jones. Through Grujic was quite good too and was happy for his to finally score for us even though I think he may be sold soon. He's still a big unit haha.

Bring on Arsenal.
