I'd expect our starting XI will be rested for league cup games. We'll at least have a fighting chance this year since our entire squad isn't competing in the Club World Cup.

Ahh Torres. He broke my heart when he left. But then Suarez arrived and all was well.

Yeah I was heart broken at the time as we didnt know Suarez would be Suarez. But Torres was quickly forgotten particularly as he fell off a cliff.

The Suarez sale though yeah, that one not only hurt but he was not irreplaceable and we used the money we got for him so poorly.

All is well now though. Casually champions!

I had watched glimpses of Suarez at Ajax in some games and I could see he had the skill so I was a bit excited that he was coming. I didn't think hed be better than Torres though. You could tell within a few games he was quality Suarez.

Our CB partnership is gonna be weird. I dont think any of VVD, Fab, Matip or Gomez will be available or play. Hopefully Phillips plays, a bit more experienced that VDB or Koumetio.

I think I heard Klopp say Gomez was fit the day after the Chelsea game, perhaps it was a dead leg or something? But not sure if he’s going to be held back to start vs Arsenal instead of playing in the league cup?

Also how long is Ox out for? Could it be another month or so?
