Man City took 3 points total in their 4 games against Arsenal and Liverpool last season. Liverpool do not need to win the games against their main rivals - they just need to break even and do better everywhere else.

That’s what second best would say. Arsenal went to the Etihad last year with only a scoreless draw on their mind. Where did that get them?

Aging team, lack of action in the transfer market, new manager, new style. Not usually the recipe for instant success, probably explains why we are sort of flying under the radar this season so to speak.

The week we play both Real Madrid and Man City will show how far we have come with matching the bigger teams. And then its the annual dreaded form slump. Either post Christmas across January, or over the final few weeks. Its always one of the two.

I am expecting nothing this season. And accept this is more an adjustment period, to see which players suit Slots system. Any trophy will be a bonus. However, making the top 4 should always be the minimum. We have done well points wise, without looking good at times. But to be fair, even City has looked vulnerable in a couple of their recent games, and barely scrapped through with the win. So in comparison, you have to be pretty happy with where we stand currently.
