Not happy. We should be smashing this filth. But it is the filth who always get up for us except when we smashed them. Had a feeling this was going to happen. Feels like a loss to be honest.

Trent can leave. He deserves criticism. Perhaps he doesn’t want to put in in fear of injury? Or is it out of spite because of it is even his biggest fans must admit you cannot have this derailing the season.

Gotta field a stronger team than that in a cup semi vs a big 6 side. They can rest vs Accrington.

Good point
I'm going Kelleher, Bradley, Konate, VVD, Tsimikas, Grav, Macca, Salah, Dom, Gakpo, Jota.

Still 5 changes but a good team. Go get a good result and maybe make it easier for ourselves in the 2nd leg.

The coaches, his team mates and the fans put up with Trent's half arsed defending because of what Trent provides up front. But after this display I will happily pack his bags and drive him to the airport myself. I just hope he didn't use a match against Man Utd to try and force a move to Spain in this window.

If there is one positive to come out of this game, it's that I am now genuinely not arsed if he stays or leaves. If he wants to stay, all good, we can use him elsewhere because I sure as hell don't want to see another RB performance like that again. If he wants to leave, I say sell him now, get the 20 or 30 million, put Connor in as RFB and use the money to get a back up RFB because we have a league title to win.

Lots of doom and gloom on here after that result.

I dont think we played well at all, we were open in midfield, over hit almost all our passes and couldnt really get any momentum or sustained pressure going throughout the game. Couple that with United playing the best they probably have all season and dropping points was on the cards.

But we didnt lose any ground in the title race. It's as you were. Only good thing, we're one game closer to clinching the title.

Coty made up ground on us. We're in January, they'll probably reinforce, we won't.

We're 12 clear with a game in hand of City haha. If they catch us then we've had an awful second half of the season.
Yeah we definitely don't deserve it if City are able to catch us.

4 points off United in the league this season = winning.

United played a low block and put in a shift which was always going to be difficult - apparently Onana hit 78% long balls compared to 37% season average. They came prepared. They were never going to be the inept lazy useless Sunday league team they have been impersonating all season in this game. Casemiro and Ericsson no where near the pitch is just mean.

Went to bed at HT but not surprised at the result.

Obviously Trent is playing distracted but just as disappointing is how the midfield was outworked. From what I saw of Jones he was miles below what Szoboszlai has been the last month or so.

Not a disaster given the other results but a big reminder we haven't won anything yet

Trent is not a defender. He is a mid. He grew up a mid and Klopp shifted him to RB. He has shown time and again he can't defend for shit on a regular basis.
Are you suggesting midfielders don't defend. Everyone needs to defend and unfortunately TAA has no idea on that part of football.
The sooner he f* off the better.

Steve would've never put that effort in against the Mancs. Lazy blind Hollywood passes and refusing to track back. He's not worth anywhere near what he's after. Putrid. We thought we'd cruise to it after we went in front. They all need to take that as a massive wake up call. Missed opportunity.

"Lots of doom and gloom" yet you then summed up the exact overall sentiment of what was already said in this thread. People acknowledged all of those points. There is always swearing when bad stuff happens live.

We were never gonna run the table and win every game from here until the end of season. We will have our bad moments or poor games. The important thing is we didnt lose and we didnt lose any ground with our lead at the top.

We will bounce back.

We all already knew that and it was acknowledged a handful of times.

So the "doom and gloom" level doesn't seem bad at all to me. People will naturally get annoyed during a game against Man United when we are not on top of them. That's about it.

I honestly would of thought the Greek would of replaced Robo in the last few games , coming back from injury... Slot just seems keep playing his favourite's
This is a great point. Slot seems to be of the "If the team is winning don't touch the starting XI" philosophy, regardless of if certain players aren't performing at the best. Robertson is one example, not that my fellow Greek Tsimikas is world class but he is certainly a solid no.2 and could/should have a few more games under his belt for an aging Robbo who has not had the best of seasons and who's errors continue to mount up.

Diaz as a striker is another one. Diaz plays his best football on the left, where we can pick up the ball and run at defenders. Despite having a decent scoring record when playing as a CF (he also had no problem scoring when playing on the wing), he is often a lot quieter and can get lost in the middle of the pitch where it's congested. I am sure Slot would turn around and say the ends justifies the means, which is hard to argue with but I don't necessarily agree.

Jota has been fit again for three weeks now, I am glad they've been easing him but I am sure he has been ready to start for a while. IMO we have been robbing Peter to pay Paul by continuing to shoehorn Diaz in as a striker and not starting Jota. We are getting a 6.5/10 Diaz when on the wing he consistently turns in performances that are 8/10 level.

I do know Gakpo has been scoring so it is hard to drop him to accommodate Diaz back to the wing and Jota as a CF. IMO Diaz is a winger, full stop. I don't mind him as a 2nd or 3rd option as a striker to throw something different at the opposition when things aren't going our way. But I don't think he should be our nailed on starter through the middle. Interesting to see if and when Slot changes his mindset with regards to if it ain't broke don't fix it, it may happen after the flat performance overnight.

Wow that was really poor, defense was terrible. Bad 2 points to drop

We needed to win given we have Forest away, Brentford away and Bournemouth away in the next 4 games

That's one of the worst games I've ever seen Trent played, if it's the contract talks that's getting to his head then perhaps Bradley should start from now on
Teams are dropping points. Think a draw is a suitable result
Could tell early Liverpool were flat footed. TAA’s passing and defending early was atrocious
