Now that Gakpo didn’t score, would love for Diaz to get back on the left, Jota as striker. Will score and run more. Gakpo just holds up play all the damn time
Diaz was the bigger issue than Gakpo.

Starting Jota as striker is the main thing (in an ideal world), who plays on the left is irrelevant. But I guess Slot is paranoid about breaking him. And therein lies the bittersweet nature of having Jota as an important part of your squad.

I do prefer Diaz wide left over Gakpo if im honest. I also love getting Gakpo on late in games to run at players and cut inside and score bangers. But Diaz for me has to be the starter with Jota obviously through the middle.

Gakpo pinch hitting off the bench on the left makes more sense, he just doesn't offer enough in general play otherwise

Diaz is the opposite on the left, all the running front and back but not as big a goal threat. Sub him off for Gakpo later in the game if we need a goal makes more sense

We are scoring every game, but we don't get the 3 points because we can't keep clean sheets, our defending has become a joke tbh
Yeah we need to tighten back up. Before Konate's injury we quite clearly had the best defensive record in the league, since then TAA has been hot and cold, Robbo's form has been poor and Konate being out and then coming back not at his best has hurt us.

We need to find that defensive solidity we had early in the season.

Also and this is probably wide of the mark but are we seeing Gakpo preferred because of the Dutch connection? I'd like to think that has nothing to do with it though.

He has just gone on a scoring run hence why he has been starting. If the goals dry up and Lucho starts scoring then he will start. Simple.

Konate going down was underestimated. Haven’t been the same since.
Robertson hasn’t been that bad. Just not the fast fit player he was.

Largely Gakpo has been fantastic this season. Diaz has also been good but been charged to play in a different position at times.

We got punished for a single mistake yesterday and slowly dominated the game more and more as it went on. If we can't get a result at Brentford I'd be more concerned.
