I remember thinking 4th would be a good result before this season started.
Diaz was the bigger issue than Gakpo. Now that Gakpo didn’t score, would love for Diaz to get back on the left, Jota as striker. Will score and run more. Gakpo just holds up play all the damn time
I do prefer Diaz wide left over Gakpo if im honest. I also love getting Gakpo on late in games to run at players and cut inside and score bangers. But Diaz for me has to be the starter with Jota obviously through the middle. Now that Gakpo didn’t score, would love for Diaz to get back on the left, Jota as striker. Will score and run more. Yeah we need to tighten back up. Before Konate's injury we quite clearly had the best defensive record in the league, since then TAA has been hot and cold, Robbo's form has been poor and Konate being out and then coming back not at his best has hurt us.We are scoring every game, but we don't get the 3 points because we can't keep clean sheets, our defending has become a joke tbh
Also and this is probably wide of the mark but are we seeing Gakpo preferred because of the Dutch connection? I'd like to think that has nothing to do with it though.
Had that feeling. But Gakpo has been scoring. Can only reward formAlso and this is probably wide of the mark but are we seeing Gakpo preferred because of the Dutch connection? I'd like to think that has nothing to do with it though.
Konate going down was underestimated. Haven’t been the same since.Yeah we need to tighten back up. We need to find that defensive solidity we had early in the season.
Beat them at Anfield and we win the league.
We keep opening the door ajar for Arsenal despite their patchy form so they will capitalize eventually
4 draws in 7 games with a tougher fixture than theirs coming up, Arsenal can probably close the gap more. We need to start showing we're serious about winning the league

In what way other than results are we showing we aren't serious about winning the league? It's a a good team currently acting above expectations right now. The 2019-20 team would handle this team comfortably, and understandably so.
Before visiting City at the end of February, our EPL fixture looks like this:
@ Brentford
v Ipswich
@ Bournemouth
@ Everton
v Wolves
While the away fixtures will probably be tricky, we should be winning all those games. If we can get one of the genuine CFs going, more so. UCL fixtures in January will probably be strong teams selected with no risks taken on injuries (like Klopp tended do to in dead UCL fixtures). Heavy rotation in the FA Cup. Tottenham in the EFL Cup will be taken seriously.
Much rather be in our situation than anyone else's right now.

4 draws in 7 games with a lot of those games we should've gotten 3 points out of isn't good, with Brentford Bournemouth Everton City and Villa away all coming up very shortly, we have to show up to those games, no more of that 1st half against Forest kind of performance. Seems like a pretty reasonable comment to make
We've also conceded like 15 goals in 10 games and kept only 2 clean sheets, you don't win titles defending like that, we need to improve
Every team needs to improve - no argument there. I just don't think the "getting serious" or "showing up" comments are fair because they completely disregard the fact that the games are contests and the other team is out there to win too. Forest are very good and completely confident right now in their game plan, which is half the battle for them. Man U is always up for grabs. Newcastle lost immediately after playing us then won 9 in a row. Fulham we had a man sent off.
Konate was our best defender before he got injured and that injury has been the main contributing factor to our defensive frailty of late. Hopefully he can get back to top form soon.
