Forrest Gump is in the same sort of boat as Braveheart. Both immensely popular and entertaining films, I grew up watching them both a lot. So I can understand their high placing in a popularity list (Forrest Gump was once in the Top 10 highest grossing films of all time, and both won the oscar). But among the other films in 20-11, even The Matrix, it stands out a bit.

I for one cannot STAND Forrest Gump.

I can't knock anything that's in or out of this countdown as I didn't get my votes in, it's still a great read.

I got it wrong as well.

Probably because there are a bunch of common words that start with the Krypt/Crypt sound, and pretty much no words that start with Kypt/Cypt. It's a weird sound so our brains automatically jump to the syllable we're familiar with.

Yes, but to a point only.

Considering this is basically a popular movie countdown, I think it went pretty well.
Everyone will have varying viewpoints, but this seems to be representative of what guys may like.

Great work kyppa. Haven't been Able to keep up lately as I'm holidaying' in the states with only an ipad (despise the bastard things). Didnae get too many in the top 100 (too little peckinpah ).

Agree with the ideas for lists by Artists, Books & also maybe shortlists of movie genres, best horror, crime, sci-fi, pron etc, you get the drift.

I think there is only one Stanley Kubrik movie ( 2001: A Space Odessey). That's pretty surprising.

I expected more people would like Full Metal Jacket. A true classic for mine.

Looks like I was the only one to vote The Deer Hunter as well

Both Barry Lyndon and Full Metal Jacket from memory both made the 100. I think Clockwork Orange was around the mark as well, and The Shining probably wasnt far off.

Full Metal Jacket has some brilliant patches, but it is a patchy film and one of his lesser films.

Deer Hunter was in my 10-20, just missed out on a vote.
