FTA-TV The BigFooty Top 100 TV Shows Countdown (Top 10 Counting Down)

Glad Top Gear didn't rank any higher.

That was one of my bigger shocks across the countdown. For most of the voting it was outside the top 100 and only got in because it was on a couple of people's lists towards the end. I was sure it would finish higher than it did. If this countdown took place a few years back it probably would have.

Great to see DBZ represented, and pretty high too. Same goes for The Young Ones.

Justified so low... more people need to see this show it appears.

Sherlock is a top show too. Suits above those two shows is surprising.

If Sherlock had more episodes i think it would have been much much higher, Suits is fresh and hot at the moment so i think thats why it did so well

Justified is ok, actually think on an Of All Time list, think it doesn't really deserve to be higher

Agree about your Sherlock and Suit thoughts.

Justified S2 and S3 are some of the most solid seasons of television you'll watch. Superb scripts and acting mixed with phenomenal casting.

i watched Justified season 2 and 3, i wasn't trying to be harsh because i actually liked them, but overall i think thats about where it belongs

it didn't make my top 20 and i think if i was doing a top 100, i would have it around there

Suits is meant to be awesome, haven't seen it personally though.

Sherlock frustrates me.

The good: - Cumberbatch has turned Sherlock into an amazing character, extremely dislikable but brilliant.
- the way they show his powers of deduction is great.
- the plotlines and twists in some eps are incredible, the pilot ep was my favorite, brilliant.

The bad: - their attempts at humor completely miss the mark for me.
- the hobbit who plays Watson annoys the crap out if me
- it sometimes slips into coincidences and cliches to advance the plot.

Personally I just wish it was a darker show, because its got so much going right for it in spite of what I find to be its flaws.

It's 9.2 on IMDB is surprisingly high - puts it alongside some of the all time greats.

Relatively solid 10.

Dragon Ball Z is one of shows with so many obsessive fans, deserves a place, good to see. The seasons from start till end of Cell games were fairly stellar.

I guess DBZ being so low means that no other anime is going to make it in.

A shame because stuff like Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion and Serial Experiments Lain are some of the most innovative and thematically deep shows ever put on television. I am not a huge anime buff but there is a lot more to the genre than kids shows.

I think we would all agree, but Dragon Ball Z is no suprise, as it has mass appeal and would be one of the most beloved shows ever in the preteen market. The 'kid show' side of the market definitly made more of a cultural impact in the west.

Oh yes, I wasn't really complaining about DBZ making it in. Just I knew it would be the highest ranking anime so when I saw it, I was a bit sad that none of the others made the cut. It would be nice to see the genre get a bit more recognition.

I voted for Cowboy Bebop and I saw a couple of people vote for Death Note but (aside from DBZ and Pokemon) I'm not sure anime made anyone else's list.

I think I generally am drawn more towards anime films (being more of a film enthusiast myself). Films like Akira, Perfect Blue, Ghost in the Shell, and the majority of Ghibli, are all high quality films. I think with the deeper animes, I prefer to visit the world for 2 hours as opposed to 20 hours.

Yeah it can be a bit full-on. NGE got pretty weird towards the end, and SEL is just flat-out bizarre in a lot of ways. It's sort of a different approach to television. I have to admit I pretty much stopped watching anime TV series about halfway through uni because I found it too serious and exhausting. Haven't really been inspired to start again, although I occasionally go back to old favourites.

It's part of the reason I think Cowboy Bebop is so great, because it's got thematic depth while still managing to keep things pretty fun and accessible. I always recommend it to people who enjoyed Firefly - Joss Whedon is clearly a massive CB fan.
