Basketball isn't positionless and that notion is terrible. There is only one team that didn't play a center and that was Toronto and even they realised that it was stupid and didn't work so they traded for one. There is no team that chooses to not have a point guard and run 4 forwards and a center.

An extreme example is the 1999-2000 season's top 5 in MVP: Shaq, Garnett, Mourning, Malone and Duncan
That doesn't look ridiculous to you as a supposed five man lineup? Because that could be an example for the 1st team All NBA now, or reverse it for a team of guards.

Ask Warsaw and Creed , I am the most die hard anti Philly/Sixers fan on this forum but I absolutely cannot see any reason why Embiid should not be the MVP now, his form since the All Star Break has been considerably stronger/more impressive than Jokic's.

I would argue strongly that Joker has a better supporting cast/teammates now than Joker. Harden aside, the rest of the Sixers squad is bit of a mess (Maxey has gone backwards this season)

I'm still saying Jokic but Embiid is just as worthy anyway. Anything to stop the angst really.

It's certainly nowhere near as bad as Westbrook's win.

Cmon, Maxey is a bloody star, who just so happens to play twice as good (you could probably say the same for Tobias) when Embiid doesn’t play.

Yes, Embiid is probably the most dominant big man in the league, but he doesn’t make his team mates better. Jokic is also dominant but he also makes his team mates a hell of a lot better. That’s the difference between the 2.

It's worthless because it's no different than an MVP ranking or the list of All-Stars which we already have. The fact that it resembled a real team is the only reason the award existed.

I agree with Bill Simmons somewhat that it's supposed to be somewhat of a snapshot of the season. If DeAndre Jordan is the best center that the NBA has to offer in a season then that is in itself a commentary on the season (which btw he was not even a bad player back then, there is some revisionism with him because he sucks now).

I'm also not a fan of the All-Australian team when they pick 15 midfielders for a best 22 when we all know that's bullshit.

They put up stats, doesn’t equate to playing better.

I don't know about that, some of the things Luka has said I would be concerned if I was a Mavs fan.
