If it makes for TV viewing then the producers would do all they can to bring bring colourful personalities back in or keep them in.

True, but it is frustrating as a viewer to watch one team putting in so much effort to play as a team while getting kicked in the balls by the producers, yet the less deserving team gets constant leg ups just because they have or had "colourful personalities".

Frankly, I find more entertainment and indeed inspiration in seeing guys like Sean and John, in spite of their disabilities, battle hard and achieve big numbers than watching socially inept "personalities" having a go at each other all in the guise of drama and conflict.

I know, I know - that's reality TV, ". . . too bad, too sad!"

Too bad, Too Sad.... has to be one of the dumbest sayings/putdowns ever, but I just can't stop saying it - my wife was ready to kill me last night.

Has anyone pointed out that Nicole played the role of Toadie on Neighbours in the 90's

If I was the blue team though I'd be flipping the Biggest Loser gods the ol' bird. For a total of 1 loss at the weigh-in (supposedly the most important part of the game) they have lost 3 team members - Sean, Debbie and Sam.

The red team have lost 3 team members also, but gained Sam from the blues. Therefore that brings it back to 2 members lost. Now JJ is back too (albeit as a black) so we'll make him a half member (his alliance with the reds will come in handy towards the end). That means that the red team have lost 3 weigh-ins and half the challenges for a total loss of 1.5 members. Yet the only thing the reds have beaten the blue team at is giving in to temptation.

Apparently this season constant squabbling and bickering amongst your team mates, as well as giving in blindly to temptation is being rewarded. Just like in the real world

Blues about to lose John tonight also for defying doctors orders and training too hard. Feel for Shannon though, he has done everything right and his team has been decimated.

John really is a stubborn arseh*le, just refuses to listen to anyone and now is rightfully kicked off the show for "knowing better than the doctors". Most of the time he knows he is wrong but his over inflated ego and false sense of pride means he never steps down. Got absolutely no time for the bloke... wouldn't surprise me if he keels over from a heart attack within 10 years.

Don't really like JJ but he will bring a certain amount of entertainment to the show. Spends all day in a truck and has absolutely no social skills whatsoever, perfect recipe for some fireworks. Looking forward to see how JJ handles The Commando and his in your face training style.

JJ just has to clash with The Commando, you can see it coming and if he doesnt it will be more of a shock to me.

As for John, I agree he is an arrogant arse that always thinks he is right and wont accept anyone else telling him something. Its one the the docs telling you "you may/will not be able to walk again" as apposed to "you cant/mustnt do such and such again". 5 years ago I was told not to play football again due to head trauma and the possiblity of death...... have I played again ?? No I havent..... have I wanted to play again ?? My oath I have. But I simply cant do so. Its the same thing here.

John's reasons for going into the house were great, he wanted to see his grandchildren grow up and save his life...... but the way he is going about it is all wrong.

Probably a good thing seeing how well Gumeracha have been going :D

I quite like John but I do agree with what you're saying.

Even more ludicrous was what he was actually baulking at. I mean it's one thing to say, "no I'm not doing that" if it will somehow impede you or put you at some kind of disadvantage. Hell, even if it was just a minor annoyance for him I'd at least sympathise with him not doing it.

But all he had to do was make sure he wore his heart rate monitor everyday and take a medic with him to supervise his exercise when alone. No one was saying you can't do extra exercise. I just found his alpha-male, pig-headed refusal to do as he's told juvenile and idiotic.

I really do like the guy but when he was carrying on with this crap all I could do was roll my eyes.

BAH!!!

Ever since I quit I tell ya :D:D

Exactly what Obi said, all he had to do was wear a monitor and make sure a medic was with him. Hell, if I had a bad heart I think id take that on for sure, just to make sure im not doing anything wrong.

If he had not have been told that HE HAD to were it, he probably would have worn.

He is clearly the sort of person that doesn't like being told to do things.

If they didn't give him one, John would have probably been asking if they had one he could wear LOL

Quite an emotional sight seeing John looking and his grandson for the first time. What he did was totally pigheaded and arrogant..... but at least upheld his promise after the show.

And how interesting will it be to see the reds going at the snacks tomorrow night ?!?! Will be rather funny, and just show who is serious when it comes to continued weight loss.

Anyone reckon that, if John leaves/gets kicked out, Blue'll get Sam back to even up the numbers?

The teams will be evened up before next weigh in, but it will be more random than simply giving Sam back. Some sort of game play will be involved.

John's tears last night left me cold. He blatantly broke the rules that were in place to ensure his safety. He knew any infraction would send him home and leave his team high and dry. He knew he was putting his health at risk but remained pigheaded and adamant he knew better. Even worse, he cost Sean his place in the house.

When he is finally caught out and sent packing he turns on the water works about how much of a team player he was... blah blah blah blah. So much of a team player he was aggressive towards anyone in his team that questioned this, even Shannon. What bullshit, bit like a criminal who shows remorse only after they are caught. Pathetic really.

The game has a lot of people this season who try very hard to justify their stupid decisions, especially around food. FFS if they cannot stick to a strict diet and avoid temptation in the house how the hell will they cope when they get home?

Garry is the perfect example... looking forward to see how much he secretly scoffed when he thought the camera was off.

Exactly. Only has himself to blame.

Wear the fking HRM like you agreed to, and no problemo.

It doesn't appear as though he just went for a run or two either, when others in the team said they knew he was pushing the boundaries "a fair bit".

Even worse, he cost Sean his place in the house.

Spot on!

I think that is the worst part of the whole mess. Not even a week ago he was given the opportunity to sacrifice himself for the good for the team and he refused. Now they've had to get rid of him anyway and Sean, someone who really deserves a spot in the house, has also gone - all through John's own pigheadedness.

The blue members are far outnumbered now, there's even less of them than the black team. This really has shafted that group, but I'm hoping somewhere down the track Sean may make a reappearance.

I do like John and I'm sure he was genuine in his regret, but he really needs to get over this whole alpha male ego trip he's on and realise that things can go on without him - in fact, now they must!

Sean left because they lost a challenge. Fair and square.
The way they lost sam was Kinda unfair but hey, thats life or 'reality'.
Debbie was eliminated after losing a weigh-in. Fair and square.
John left because he was a proud idiot who refused to play by the rules. Hardly anyone's fualt but his.

So I don't see where you're getting the argument that the show has been rewarding the wrong type of behaviour.

Further, people complain that the show is not about weight loss. Fair enough, there are always twists and turns but thats because its ON TV!!! who the hell would wanna watch a show about nothing but two dozen fat people losing weight. Nothing else happens. lol you could do that at the gym.

I don't recall the restrictions becoming tighter?

Was it not just wear the HRM, stay under 110 bpm, and have the medic there?

theres alot of stuff that happens that doesnt get shown. i wouldnt be surprised if there were more restrictions we didnt know about

in fact, the other day i was reading the official biggestloser forums, at the top they had a warning not to ask any of the former contestants (because some of them post on the site) about anything behind the scenes, their exact routine etc. kinda strange i thought.

some of the secrets that i know about are:

- you know how they weigh in every week? A week for them could be anything from 7-14 days. generally around 10 or 11 days.

- the scale they show on tv is not the real scale, they are all weighed backstage individually and completely naked (it wouldnt be fair if the guys took their tops off yet the girls had top and shorts). this way it also gives them a way of deciding which order to have everybody weigh in on tv

Regarding the last point, I always wondered that, if they are all weighed backstage naked, why the hell they make the guys take off their tops on tv, and subject all of australia to those gross stomachs

“But the restrictions became tighter, yet I became fitter and I really struggled with getting my head around that.

This guy is no Einstein.

1. He has a heart condition.
2. The fitter he got the harder he wanted to train.
3. The harder he trained the more strain on his heart.

Not that hard to connect the dots big fella.
