7 want these 2 new shows to be variety shows and nothing to do about football to be honest. they have a terrible track record of trying to have variety shows that mix with football
Pete Heliar wasn't too bad but needs a co-host to help him out. By himself its just too much Heliar. A couple of segments were good, a few bad. They are going for people who don't know too much about footy due to the early timeslot and the "kiddy" type jokes. I think it will get a bit better once they gel but not sure if that will be enough to get it to a second season.
One point to remember is that this is a show before football has started so it's bound to be a bit stale. Once the season is underway and there are more talking points it will put a bit more meat into the show and they will be able to drop the sketches as fillers.

From what I've seen so far (living in Perth)... I dont mind it, some very unfunny moments but I enjoyed the tipping skit with Helliar and I like how they went in to detail with the games. Haven't seen that much so far, only the first 2 segements.

the band was annoying, and the quiz bit was just embarassing. not enough questions, and why wouldnt they let the person who pressed the buzzer first actually answer the question? perhaps if they kept the other 2 on the panel the whole show it might be better. and pete rosethorn, i thought he was gona be more involved. panel shows take some time to settle though so gotta give it a go.
Likewise, the show started at 10:30 on Prime Wollongong. Thought the fence sitting skit was lame but overall so far not too bad. Liked the tipping and face painted skits too.
Hopefully the show gets better in the weeks ahead.
