But if there’s no scoring advantage, why do you care and what do you feel it’s an issue?
It's a shit spectacle.
It's still cheating.
And Dogs fans should be concerned about the direction the coach
Why? We won a flag with this coach and played in a grand final last year. We’ve had a down season this year but you telling me your club has had a better six years since you choked in the grand final?

Dunno why I care.
I hate deliberate cheating.
Not sure why.

Why do you care enough to bother posting in here?

This common mentality that free kicks should be distributed out evenly really highlights how poorly some people see the game tbh
Common mentality?

Absolute nobody thinks that. Nobody

The issue is the Dogs regularly and deliberately altering their game to play for frees.

That's the issue.

Anybody who doesn't realise this is deliberate and coached doesn't watch footy.
They do it a collective way more than any of the other 17 sides.
Just watch. It's more obvious at live games as well.

You can even have the 'rub of the green' at the same time as losing the free kick count. An impossible concept for some.
100%. Conversely, I've seen a multitude of extremely poorly inspired games in which the free kick found was relatively even. It's literally zero indication as to whether a game was well umpired or not

“I don’t know why I care”

This explains nearly every one of your 10,308 posts to date.

Why do you care ?

Why don't you care about ab

So what!

You can pick out a zillion individual games.

Thats not the point.

The point is this Dogs side under Beveridge systemically wins the free count and systemically plays for frees.

It's not statistically random.

It's a deliberate tactic.

And it's a stupid tactic because it doesn't help win games.

Why do I care that you’re slagging off my team? Because unlike your supporter base I actually care about my team.

I also am fans of multiple sports. Not sure why you’re asking, but nothing you post is hugely surprising.
I'm suggesting Bevo may have lost the plot.
Thats all.
Players focus is now more about cheating than winning the game.
And that lands on the coach.

If so it's a waste of time because, as the stats show, there is no correlation with winning more free kicks and winning games. A fact which is conveniently ignored by people like you.

For 5 years Dogs fans (and the AFL media) pushed the idea they got more frees because rhey were "first to the ball" and "made the play ".

Now they can't say that anymore so suddenly the argument has shifted to something else.

Can't admit that they are cheats who deliberately play for frees and this edict comes from the Head Coach.

The graph is from 2017 which is inclusive of those years try again.

Might seem insignificant on a per-game basis, but in a close comp like this year, free kicks resulting in 1 or 2 goals (or more) here and there could be rather substantial when final percentages are calculated.

No idea how the Dogs have got away with it for so long.

It's clear that Beveridge encourages a gameplan that is centred around Ducking, Diving and Throwing. How they don't get called out on their bullshit is beyond me.

I hate it when the commentators use "little give" or "flicks it" - just call it for what it is FFS - If the commentators were calling it how it is - Friday night's game should have said "Treloar throws it to X - That's the 3rd time he's got away with it in the Swans forward 50 in the last 15 minutes - very lucky not to concede 3 goals"

The AFL is worse off for this type of strategy and god knows why the media muppets let it go - it will be a good thing when all coaches and players involved are no longer in the game.
