Anyone got a video of the 50m penalty for “going 2m over the mark”?

That was a ripsnorter.

Is the Suns player over the mark? Yes.
Did the Suns player come back from where he was when the mark was taken? Also yes.
Was he 2 mtrs over the mark like the umpire states on the audio? No.
The amazing bit that I’ve included in the above snap is how quickly the umpire calls for the 50, with NO warning.
Was it even the controlling umpire for that area of the ground? No, umpire in the centre of the ground is.

Nah, that grand final was definitely due to the umps handing it to you on a sliver platter... no arguments can be had
No arguments can be had? I am well aware that the following is going to fall on deaf ears/blind eyes. But we don't have a lot of umpire review platforms, there is, however, a pretty good one on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/hasumpstuffedup?lang=en

They reviewed the 2016 grand final and the summary was:

Dogs received 20 correct calls, received 3 incorrect calls, missed out on 8 calls
Swans received 11 correct calls, received 1 incorrect call, missed out on 11 calls.

Overall Dogs should have had +5 calls, Sydney should have +10 calls.

If you genuinely think that +5 free kicks throughout an entire game is the difference between a club kicking 10.7 (Sydney) and 13.11 (Western Bulldogs) then I don't know what to tell you. Unless you're going to have a subjective look at the game, you really shouldn't be making silly statements like "definitely due to the umps handing it to you on a silver platter".

He wasn't far off 2m beyond where he marked it, just to the left of that TFH sign. Definitely harsh but not altogether incorrect.

I think the issue some posters have is that the umpires didn't give the Gold Coast player a warning or something.

In any case, it's definitely our fault.
Definitely harsh, but it wasn't like the player didn't encroach at all as some are making out, strange to not receive a warning though. Umpiring did feel poor tonight and in our favour but it's not proof of a grand conspiracy as some like to think.

And Swans fans can continue reminisce on another losing grand final :D

Why do Bulldogs fans continue to defend this?
Because they know in their own hearts it's true that they get a golden run most games from the umpires and try making distractions to the criminality that's occurring on field. Sort of Donald Trump'ish behaviour

I won't say any more than that or I'll cop a ban

We've averaged a whole +1 free kick per game this year.

It's absurd, I know.

There was arguably another good step before you could say the dogs player "completed" the mark. Technically it should be back where the yellow line is (i.e. where he first controlled it), but by the time GC player could react the Dogs player was past him, and he simply stopped in his tracks at that point, actually trying to do the right thing. He was well within a reasonable position of the mark. In cases like this the player is always then instructed to move back 1 or 2 metres. Disgraceful decision that can't be justified.
