Not so worried about McKay..he is on a similar climb as Weiters but a year behind in football terms.
McGovern is an attacking player and that is its own defence when the team learns to play to that strength
Curnow C is just having a horror run.

All of them need to work harder when they don't have the ball. Forward defensive pressure is vital from all forwards

Not rocket science to see that it's not working. Don't agree CC is a crash and bash CHF, McGovern more suited to that roll. All 3 are talented enough to rotate in a triangle through that area. How our small forwards don't know where to position themselves is just ridiculous.

Robbo, just don't speak, it is better to keep your mouth shut and think your a fool, than to open it up and prove it. CC is out of form, that is all, it has happened to all sports people and is nothing new. There is no big story, no magic formula, no supplements he can take.

I think we always knew that the forward line would be a problem, given;
a. The three talls getting used to playing with one another.
b. The lack of clever small and medium-sized forwards.

Poor Teague being handed over a dogs breakfast to make good with.(Teague is our forward coach, for those that may not know)
i.e. Given the mix of inexperienced talls (none had played 50 games coming into the season) and then having to 'find' some smalls to operate around them.

Pretty sure he may not be having himself a great time of things right now.

Which bit?

Not sure I agree with him regarding Simpson.

I do agree with everything else mentioned in that video. David Teague needs to take some heat for this and one of Curnow or Gov has to stand up and be the general down there. It's an embarrassment of riches we have in the fwd line yet it's a dysfunctional mess.

Gov should be full forward. McKay and Curnow roaming half forwards in my opinion. Gibbons is not a small forward neither is Ed Curnow. Play Daisy, Fisher or SPS there if we must. There is so much potential in this team that is not getting utilised, this is the frustration currently.

Eventually one of our young forwards will take a primary leadership role in that area, until then, I would like to see someone like Thomas or Murphy playing there for the majority of the game, probably Thomas as he spent many years in the forward half with Collingwood

Getting back to young forwards, I am confident Teague will continue to tweak/educate/nurture our young forwards, but what should be the non negotiable from all forwards is to apply constant pressure, not just small/medium players, but even our talls.

Charlie, Harry and Gov, just don't work hard enough defensively

The same could be said about the backline for the last two years but the experience is growing there from playing and training together.
The same will happen up forward. Hardly a dismal failure when they have only 4 games as a group.

Adding to our issues, is the complete lack of continuity across the 4 games.
Charlie injured.
Gov underdone and been hurt in 3 of the 4 games.
Cunners, our best small forward, and integral to the forwardline through the pre-season out.

Think we need to get Daisy forward for some leadership.

Only last year, the backline was really solid in 2017
It was promising is as far as I would go mate. Very young but in comparison it was a big improvement to what mighty mick left behind.
Experienced it certainly wasn't and injuries slowed that down terribly but its starting to build now. Not as a back six though but as a group of 9 or ten that all know the plan.

I reckon that McGovern was traded in to become this General. I think he has the capability. Bloke needs to get fired up.

Exposed evidence is that in every part of a game that we've looked good this year, McGovern has been an active contributor.

I don't think it's about him being fired up so much as getting a good run at it fitness wise.

Seriously interrupted pre-season with his back. Hurt his back against the Tiges. Hammy tightness and missed half the game against the Swans. Ankle against the Suns.
The in-game injuries are all minor, but on top of already being under-done, they are not helping us.

Seriously talented player though.

David Teague has a lot to answer for.

Came across from Adelaide highly touted and is doing terribly based on exposed form.
Crows forward line has fallen apart since he left, ours hasn’t had a good run at it yet.

Might pay to keep your powder dry for a couple more weeks

Yeah everyone needs to clam down. I know its hard. I nearly threw the Kambrook in the bath on Sunday night. But we all need to wait until later this year - I am very confident a big wave will start rolling in - and it is going to blow us all away. If only we could just insert games into players like sim cards. Just stick fat peeps.
