Hird was never more than a cuddly pet dog sitting under the table in the big end of town. He made his pile of money out of scraps that Evans organised to be thrown to him, including some sweet AFL contracts from Demitriou.

The day Jimmy bladed Evans and Vlad he was finished in business. (And in a delightful bit of payback a company Vlad works with took all of Hird's AFL contracts away from him.)

By the time Tania finishes her own little bit of payback, James Albert will be lucky to have a pot to piss in.

The only double entrant in the "Bringing the game in to disrepute" award - that's more special than any old hall of famer.
The man who has caused EFC to be uncompetitive this decade - that's worthy of an award in itself.
The man who said he was responsible then did everything possible to avoid responsibility.
The man who instituted numerous expensive legal actions to stop the investigation (and protect his reputation); failing in most, and spending outrageous amounts of (mostly) other peoples money.
The man most responsible for making Essendon players drug cheats.
The man most responsible to allowing his players to be exposed to biological agents of uncertain side effects, a nice thing for the players and there families to bear for life.

So now that the 34 Essendon players have failed to clear their names, what about the organisation (Essendon Football Club) that implemented the illegal drugs program?

Watson's Brownlow medal should be void. It kinda takes out the 'fairest' part of Best and Fairest if it's not. If it was just an award for Best then all those players who were suspended would be eligible. Not just that but no sporting organisation allows awards won to be retained after a drugs ban.

Then there is The Essendon Football Club. Criminals aren't allowed to profit from their crimes, that's Australian law, not that this is a breach of federal law but on principal why should this be any different? Essendon finished last because of the drugs ban, they are responsible for administering the drugs, they are about to profit from it by receiving the highest possible draft picks. Every other club in recent times that have severely broken AFL rules have had their top picks removed. Adelaide, Sydney and Carlton have all had top draft picks taken off them for less sever crimes. Essendon lost draft picks for the lesser offence of bad book keeping and bringing the game into disrepute. Not only do Essendon get the top picks but get to keep the better players they picked as compensation for no cost and get most of their players back.

No other sporting organisation in the world would let Essendon have the top draft picks or Watson have the Brownlow medal. I think that the AFL and the AFL media will turn a blind eye to this issue and just make it go away because that is what they seem to want. I'm not saying they should have their picks removed, but they should be adjusted up 10 or so spots, it's wrong that they gain anything at all from this.
