Re: The Clock's Ticking on Gilchirst...

Rrrrrrrrrrrrrright, idiot.....NEXT!!!!!!!!!!!

100% agree he is doing nothing with the bat and needs to be droped at the end of the series his best crickets been behind him for about 3 to 4 years now

Yea he has contributed little with the bat for a long time.

What's more concerning is when was the last time he contributed with the bat when we were in trouble? (Although I will admit he doesn't come in very often in that situation).

He needs to be doing more with both bat and gloves.

Keepers in junior cricket would not have dropped the second one... very embarrassing.

Time people stopped looking in the past and concentrated on what he has been doing in test cricket over the last couple of years. Keeping has been ordinary and batting very inconsistent.

love it

Guy won us a WC final not long ago - but hey, lets drop one of the best players ever for grassing a couple of catches
Gotta love these BigFooty posters...

There is a difference between Test cricket and ODI cricket, you do realise that don't you? I'm all for him staying in the ODI team as you can afford to have a hit and get out cheaply, no big deal, but in test cricket it's different. As likka rightfully pointed out, Gilchrist has been a terrific player for Australia but his batting has been inconsistent for some time now. Haddin's in his prime and the time is right. At the conclusion of this series it's time for him to step aside from the test team.

Stick to following the WTA tour Drummond.

I agree. Keeping has been shocking.

He has 17 dismissals in the first 3 tests this summer. Please don't tell me that's bad.

He's also missed 4 in this series (3 catches and a stumping)

Time you started making some sense.

season 06/07 - average of 45.8 from 5 matches
season 07/08 - average of 44 from 4 matches (including current match)

Not going fantastic but not exactly dreadfully out of form (like 05).
