People talking like it was easy to bat in Sydney the other night. Aus scored 50 off the first 3 and a bit overs and the next 50 (100) took them over 60 balls!
I agree with you that it wasn't an easy wicket to bat on. Of the main grounds in Australia in each state, in the BBL since its inception of the Power Surge in BBL 9 the SCG is the toughest wicket to bat on compared to: Perth Stadium, MCG, Adelaide Oval, Blundstone and GABBA.

Spencer Johnson, Bartlett and Zampa bowled well as a trio.

And the 'easiest ' time to score runs there is when the field is up. And ive kept some stats since the inception of the Power Surge in the BBL.

From 17 games at the SCG, the average Powerplay (Overs 1-4), teams batting first average 30 runs .

Same allocation of games, the average Power Surge (2 overs), teams batting first average 21.06 runs.

My opinion is that the SCG grass is a tad more heavier compared to the other grounds. Like of all the main grounds in Aus, the balls tend to plug a bit more there.

Anyway, my point is at the SCG you have to go harder rather than look to preserve or attack in the back end.

Table values for Powerplay and Power Surge since the inception in BBL 9 onwards:

Pakistan scored 30 inside the first 6 overs of powerplay on Saturday night, which is the average in a BBL game inside the first 4 overs at the SCG since BBL 9. Im sorry to say, Pakistan missed a trick and there can be no excuse for the way they plodded around the other night.

Not by much by even scoring in the Power Surge at the SCG is the hardest of those 6 grounds. The order of difficulty scoring runs in the Power Surge there is: SCG> MCG> GABBA> Blundstone> Adelaide> Perth. And I can say with some confidence on a first innings basis, the SCG is the lowest scoring average of those grounds for total score.

Bit surprised about Perth being the easier to score runs on the Surge overs but I gather with that extra bounce, and short down the ground boundaries, feel like teams know where to go. And in the MCG in case with it being the highest for the opening 4 overs, teams like to go down the ground there too.
