I ask this question partly because i believe that it's the scariness of death that has made man invent god, to take the edge off the scariness of life ending forever thinking that there might be something afterwards. I believe that fear of death is fundamentally the reason for why man first invented the concept of an afterlife, and as time went on this invention developed factions and different ideals & beliefs, which in turn developed into different religions.
