Personally, he's copped a whack and is now completely out of the limelight. Given the narcissistic tendencies shown during his coaching time at Scum FC that would be killing him. Add to that the stresses of "normal" life (is he earning an income at all?) and the rumours re his marriage and life might just seem to suck right now for Sir Knifealot. His own decisions along the way got him to this point (well and his hatred of the HFC), he's going to have to fight his way out of it.

I hope he can get back on an even keel as much as i'd hope anyone could. However he created his own pile of shit and now he needs to deal with it.

I do remember a distinct lack of compassion by a certain group of supporters when Dean Robinson told the media that he had contemplated suicide throughout this doping investigation for all the pressure it put on him and his family after he was stood down.

Far from some of the poorly timed cheap puns I've read tonight, some posters actively thought that was quite hilarious and posted as such without a care in the world.

Now, I'm not suggesting this should be a free for all for trolling Hird now, but it's just really interesting how one person matters while another doesn't.

And fwiw, I'm not saying the Bombers who have visited here this afternoon are some of those who poked fun at Robinson or dressed up in Sombrero's when it became known that an 'unknown' drug from Mexico was given to players, but there's a fair level of hypocrisy thats been on display over the journey from all sides.

By the way, the "media caused this" angle that I am now reading elsewhere is a bit much.
Hird has been out of the limelight for a long time, and it must be remembered that he was allowed to walk off into the darkness after that shambles of a scripted interview with the fraudulent journo from NSW, Tracey Holmes.

Maybe if she'd had actually asked some real questions and got some real answers he'd have ripped the band aid off right there and then and got some closure. Instead it's been allowed to fester, and no doubt eat at him over time.

As someone who's close family have seriously contemplated, and in some cases attempted suicide, and someone who's lived with clinical depression and anxiety, I can't help but feel empathy for what Hird must be going through if he's indeed attempted.

My guess is that Hird's brief was not clear enough for Dank, that is to say: it did NOT say to NOT give supplements that were NOT approved for human consumption. But it should have been implied.

I am guessing that Hird was complicit in the saga and I am thinking that he was a bad manager ... Whereas Dank was the guy choosing to do the wrong thing.

Hird was far from faultless. He engineered the whole thing with Dank. He then tried to delay the hearings, keep evidence secret, spread rumours about other people in the saga, knifed colleagues in the back and generally refused to take any blame.

I'm sorry that if he is suicidal - it's a horrible place to be - but most of his fate has been caused by his actions. It would have been over long ago - years ago - had he simply told his story honestly as he promised at the beginning and taken his medicine. He would have ended up in a far better place.

It should have been more than implied. It should have been controlled and monitored. Hird was ultimately responsible for this and failed in his duty to the players. Heck, he even tried to sideline the doc when he raised very serious questions about what was going on.

Hird then stood by while a convicted drug dealer and PED pusher who gloated about 'beating the code' worked closely with his sport scientist.
