You say Hird vouched for the safety of the drugs... How do you know this? On what evidence?
I'm sure Dank did record all info on what he gave to players... And I believe he did not give over any records. Again: he is the bad guy
IF Hird vouched for the safety of the drugs then bad on him. But again complicit and not the real bad guy.

On the success of a program: on performance ... Not on what the players ate or bench pressed.
On this evidence.

Lovett-Murray said he had repeatedly asked whether the supplements were legal. ''I had these conversations with Stephen Dank and [former high-performance boss] Dean Robinson, James Hird. They all said they were legal, they were safe. So I had no concerns whatsoever,'' he said.

Should we play Tiddleywinks instead?

On SM-G935F using BigFooty.com mobile app
Ah, shyte. I left that part off my post. Yes, yes I think that is a much better use of everyone's time.

In future, if someone may have tried to kill themselves (even if your not 100% sure they did) and you still feel like critasizing them, even when you know they have kids/wives/families, play tiddlywinks instead.

Overdose by tablets is nothing more than ATTENTION SEEKING.

Irresponsible prick. He's got 4 kids he needs to raise.

Whatever mate. Hird hurt his wife and kids more than we ever could.

And we win everything but the tiddlewinks. So best start practicing.

Ok to hang shit on him then, I guess. ;)
No, of course not. But that doesn't make them comparable and it seems a bit odd you basically saying it's hypocritical to find comments on Hird distasteful because of a total unrelated situation.

Your board to mod as you see fit, and I won't post in here on this again, but when people are so rabidly and ferociously unable to separate football and cheating with mental illness and suicide it's very sad imo.

All I'm going to say us that it's obvious the people joking about this have never been touched by suicide or they wouldn't dream of trivialising it like this. For their sakes I hope they never have to have to experience it, and lose a family member like this, and feel ashamed of previous actions as a result.

That is a good start on evidence abasi. Thanks for proving.
If 5 other players said the same thing then I'd change my position.

Not sure if it's the place to be talking about our different interpretations of the medias code of ethics...But if in doubt, let's not kick the guy who *may* have tried to kill himself while he's down.

Not kicking him, I deleted my prior post that was on that line. I'm just saying people are throwing around the suicide line when all logical signs right now point to an overdose. An overdose doesn't have to be explicitly a suicide attempt.

Contemplating suicide is a long, long way from attempting suicide. Not really even slightly comparable
So when a jumper is sitting on the railing of the Golden Gate bridge feet dangling over, contemplating their worth for 6 hours whilst the cops are trying to persuade them that they matter. Then they eventually relinquish and accept help and come back...
How different is their state of mind to someone who for 1 split second after the same 6 hours, their minds says no and their body actions their thoughts and makes an actual attempt?

Cause for me the first guy who never goes past contemplation, their mental state is extremely vulnerable is and probably indistinguishable compared to the second guy who actions their thoughts and actually makes an attempt. ...

That's not what I was saying though.

I was making a point that everyone has posted ordinary stuff at some point.

I can't really see people joking about suicide.

I've seen people state opinions about Hird, and that will undoubtedly continue regardless of his mental health.

Some people will think he's selfish, some will think it's to do with ego, some will say it's sad, some will say it's his own doing....based on experiences in their own lives or perceptions of those who attempt it.

There will be a mix.

Yep, agree. However prima facie it seems likely (or possible at very least).

I've seen a mod tell another poster in all seriousness to top themselves. This is no where near as despicable or ugly.
Was that me? It was probably me.

I go over the top with my Darwinism sometimes.

nah it wasn't you mate. Hodgepodge (now known as Lethality) was the target. It didn't happen on this board.

Im pretty sure I've told some flat earthers to go suck a tail pipe in here at different times. :D

In my much younger and much angrier days I told someone on a forum to go try everything under their kitchen sink to see if it would improve their personality. Not my finest moment.

On this we agree abasi

As someone who's close family have seriously contemplated, and in some cases attempted suicide, and someone who's lived with clinical depression and anxiety, I can't help but feel empathy for what Hird must be going through if he's indeed attempted.

And making me give a shit about Hird's feelings is the worst thing he could have done.

That seriously comes across much worse than what i think you intended it to.

Sorry, let me edit that: the worst thing he could have done TO ME.

I want to think of him as some laughing stock, joke, pariah. To make me give a shit about him and humanize him sucks.
