no it doesnt. we are going for both. we have the cap space, and have front ended a lot of our current lists contracts. this has been in planning for a long time

We can bank an amount how much that amount is, is absolutely critical to how we can get it done.

If we could front load a shit load (like $2m each) in the first year then yeah we take an almighty hit next year prior to returning to somewhere near normal programming.

You factor the cap increase and it's well within the realms of possibilities that both can happen and we can retain the ability to give players appropriate increases.

If the bean counters get both trades to happen and we do not root ourselves in the process it'll be some of the most astute list management the competition will have seen.

What people are forgetting here is that the J. Kelly $1mill p/a deal will probably be a base deal of $700k with the remainder to be subsidised ala TV show deal or a Physio Assistant position with the Groin guru to the vicinity of $300k p/a.

Remember the Judd deal where he was getting paid $400k p/a by visy as a Storeman for working 4 hours per week. $2000 p/hr is pretty good money

they are different types of players. one is silky smooth, with awesome foot skills, and the other is brute strength, goal kicking mid. we need both.
