How do people find Jordan Lewis?

I don't mind him. He doesn't seem like the ''I love the way he goes about it type''.

With commentators not flying out for fox, it's not just the commentator not wanting to go, but fox cutting the expense of flying them out and accommodation and i get covid has had an impact on both individual and business, but personally i don't like calling off the TV, any footy fan can do that. It's actually a privillage of the job i would have thought to be at games live, or at least something you would have signed up for when calling. That said if they don't fly out the majority of their staff for gather round i'd find that rather disapointing.

Say what you will about 7 (as it's warranted) but they're at least flying out their commentators for interstate games

The tell tale sign is who does the pre-game stuff from the playing surface.

If it's only the boundary commentator, rest assured the main commentators are calling from the studio in Melbourne.

If they are against travelling, fine. Base them in Melbourne only covering Victorian games. It surely isn't beyond the wit of Fox to have teams in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney.

I know in Perth Foxtel uses Adam Papalia and Matthew Pavlich as they are based here. Plus you only see/hear Mark Riccuto when there's a game in Adelaide.

Yeah, 7 always have the ump mics mixed too loud compared to the crowd.
If I may do a Howie by praising Channel Nine for a sec, I reckon Fox Footy should use the setup they had. The big shotguns mics with the fluffy windscreens on the wings and behind goals, so you can hear the thump of the ball being kicked around the ground.

9 were way ahead of their time with the cameras around the boundary too.
I remember when the rights went back to 7 that first broadcast felt like a time warp.

There needs to be innovation. Even how the game is shot on camera is the same as 30 years ago.

The best callers are the blokes that never played AFL. Who'd have thought its a skill and broadcasters should lean into it rather than players barely capable of speech getting a mic.
